You know why his resume is so 'bad'? Most of the ranked contenders ducked him. I figured that him easily beating the shit out of Charles would put questions to rest the doubts as to how good he is but apparently not. Also, Armand is a great win. Frankly, that guy probably easily beats the shit out of charles also.

Doubtful but Volk is still a really good win. Size and strength matters way too much when going up against a physically dominant grappler type. I'd give Volk a much better chance of winning if he stood with Fiziev for 15 minutes. Most compelling fights to me at 155lbs for Islam are Dariush, Fiziev and Arman II. Been wanting to see Vartanyan fight Khabib/Islam for years too but I guess he's never getting signed to the UFC at this point.

Also @Vincentsky How is Islam ducking? His resume isn't good you're right but he tried to fight Chandler, Gaethje and Poirier they wouldn't touch him, didn't even want to say his name. He was lined up to fight Dariush and RDA but those fights fell through if I'm not mistaken.

IMO if you beat Bobby Green to get the TS, and instead of saying I’ll defend against anyone you throw my way, and call out the FW champ, you are scared to lose your newly acquired belt against a LW top 5 which you were never even tested against- his best win was Dan Hooker leading up to his TS

It's not Islam's fault that all the highly ranked guys avoided him so your criticism is misguided. To be honest the Volk vs Makh fight is stupid but Volk called Islam out and had been wanting to get a 155lb title shot for a while, it's understandable for this to take precedence. Also I do think Volk is a real test, a harder fight than the likes of Poirier or Oliveira at the very least. But I'd much rather be seeing Volk vs Allen and Islam vs Dariush right now. But hey, when you get pitched "a super fight for number 1 p4p status" you don't say no, so blame the UFC.
