Mackenzie Dern likes Weili Zhang’s move up to flyweight.

Weili recently vacated her strawweight title and moved up to flyweight, where she will challenge Valentina Shevchenko for the title at UFC 322 on Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Many believe Zhang might eventually move back down to 115 pounds even if she beats Shevchenko.

Dern considers Zhang’s move good for the strawweight division even if the former champ moves back down. While Dern complimented Zhang’s dominant title reign, she also thinks that it brought the division to a halt. Regardless of whether Zhang returns to 115 pounds, Dern believes the Chinese star’s move to flyweight will give other strawweights some time to prepare for her. Dern is also humble enough to acknowledge that she herself needs more preparation to fight “Magnum.”

Dern: Division Was on Pause

“She was just so dominant in the division,” Dern told Shakiel Mahjouri. “I think even just to mix things up and get the division kind of moving again. Even if she comes back down, I think the girls in the division will have more time, myself included, to kind of get just prepared and ready for her in a new way. Kind of renew the division a little bit. It was just kind of like on pause because she was so dominant. So I think it’s good for her to go up. I think her and Valentina is a fight that everyone wants to see.”

Of course Dern thinks it's a good idea Weili is moving up; it resulted in Dern receiving an undeserved title shot.

Imagine losing 4 out of 6 fights and then receiving a title shot off of beating Loopy and Ribas.

Even the most delusional wmma fan would have a difficult time defending the current state of wmma.

You just know if Dern somehow beats Virna, she'll be co-main at the White House card lol

Reasons why I can never take people like this seriously lol. No one is tuning in to watch their fighting skills or technique or anything, just their ass and body. And it's in everything, women drumming on social media wearing tape over their nipples and a thong. It's just porn, no one fucking cares about what song they're playing, just TITS LET ME SEE TITS OR ASS THE FUCKING ASS I NEED TO SEE IT to get as many views and followers as possible. Sad lol

I used to be narrow minded and only think of poop when i saw butts. But now i think of all sorts of butt stuff. Yaaay.
Come to the Brown Eyed Sith arts my apprentice. The Brown Eye Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities, some would consider , unnatural. If you only knew the power of the Brown Eye side....

Bia Mesquita chokes both these girls easy, I see her getting fast tracked to the title picture if Dern wins
Similar to how Poatan got to the title so quick when Adesanya was champ

they need to bring the water bottle trick, bad sushi, bad tiramisu, bad everything tacteeks so that the cheeks of dern win. dern beat her before. hope she can just lay and pray for 5 rounds while the cameraman are too pu$$y too give us the angles we deserve.

Bia fought at bantamweight last time, she is only 5"2 so that might of confused you to which division she was in

Dern or Jambalaya as the SW champ will have the same vale as when Pennington and Pena were BW champs

I mean Weili was so inactive I would forget she was champ every time they put her on the card.

That said dunno what Dern has learned in MMA the last 10 years because her striking and wrestling has barely improved. Her ground game is good, but she's refused to learn to have a plan B if she can't get it there. I would look at wmma even less skilled if she holds the belt. Makes Maia look like a complete fighter.
