Luke Thomas weighs in on Kara-France's Mauri posing

He’s extremely insecure, I’ve seen him snap on Brian Campbell and other co hosts many times.

Luke Thomas is a self professed gooner, drug addict and alcoholic. The fact he acts so smug on his high horse is so funny to me. He preaches on his streams about how much wiser he’s become over the years, when I think the complete opposite is true. He’s your typical shit lib with a victim mentality.

Brian Campbell seems like a good dude, even if he’s a bit over the top sometimes.

Luke’s entire life seems to centre on a need to convince himself, and demonstrate publicly, that he is superior - intellectually and morally - to others. This manifests in spontaneous outbursts of utter bile, where the professional mask slips and we see the real scumbag underneath.

Little wonder that he was physically disciplined as a child. Many parents, especially back then, will respond to a hostile and sneering child with the belt.

You are right. Luke hasn’t changed for the better with age.

I didn’t know he was an alcoholic. Makes sense given his lack of control.

I can't be mad at a fighter for trying to be different. You don't always know what's going to land and what isn't. Of course, winning your fights usually helps.

But yeah this ain't it.

The right to not be offended should be amended into the constitution asap. How did people survive for so long without key issues like these being addressed? Just think of all the good changing the Cleveland Indians name to the Guardians did. Cleveland must be a modern day utopia now because of it.

he should leave that shit to the big boys. sorry but it's pretty hard to look scary when you're two foot five.

Do we all understand where it comes from, and it’s significance?

Recently I watched the whole 9 hour Shaka Zulu miniseries (South Africa). He invented strategies to easily defeat their enemies of the day.

This is an Maori tradition.

To intimidate your opponents before the actual real fighting/killing started.

The All Blacks of NZ did it for every game. To intimidate their sporting opponents. And they were VERY successful at it. They beat a lot of their World Cup (and/or international) opponents by doing it before the game even started.

Buddeh..

You fail the Shookology education we are familiar with in here.

History is an actual thing, btw.

Thoroughly intimidated

anyone defending his Maori posturing isn't aware of actual Maori use and culture of such a thing as KKF did the equivalent of button-mashing and spamming low-kick in Street Fighter in relation to how he used his Hakuck spiel during his fight build up.

seriously loss of aura for Kai Kara Fiji

Luke "I pretend to not be a gringo" Thomas? Could care less what that dude thinks. As someone else mentioned, I don't know how Bryan Campbell can stand working with him. Campbell would be just fine without Morning Kombat, Luke would.... probably become a paid protestor. That seems to be his only gig besides riding every train on the East Coast.

this is basically Kai Kara France. the maligned type in NZ who just bc they have a bit of Maori in them they can larp about it cause its the in thing to do, like the woman in the link who doesn't speak the language or know the words (which is insanely hilarious) and will Haka her way into laughing hearts without a clue of self awareness.

Thoroughly intimidated

Honestly, it's because so many people are doing it now, some or most not even Maori, that it has lost all and any impact on actual intimidation.

In actual history, the dance was likely done only a few times a year right before armed battle was to occur, not before girls volleyball games.

Jay Jay Wilson is way worse, like he can't go 5 seconds without doing it, every single weigh-in, face off, ect.

You can type just his name into any search engine and most of the thumbnails are of him sticking his tongue out.

These Clowns always get humbled and I'm here for it.

KKF looks like he’s 1/20th Māori yet bases his entire identity around it, unlike Platinum Perry who is a black man that authentically lives and breathes his culture.

<bringit>
Oh I thought he was 98% Ojibwe

anyone supporting that stupid shit is wrong, plain and simple
You have never seen NZ sportsmen do the Haka before? Is that also cringe? Its part of NZ tradition, and very common to see in sports. This 'backlash' is hilarious. If you want to talk about cringe I would nominate Alex dressing up as a tribal warrior with face paint.
