I would recommend Siddhartha

I would also recommend don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff.

you son of a....!!!!

that's the book i was going to recommend.

ugh....i guess i'll have to say "of human bondage" then.

Siddhartha is a good one.

My personal favorite would be The River Why by David James Duncan. It's such a great story, starts out as somewhat of a coming of age novel, but as the story progresses, it becomes very philosophical, focusing on the protagonist's search for meaning in life, and introducing a plethora of fantastic characters. It's actually my favorite book of all time, probably a bit biased because my Mom read parts of it to me before she died, which led me to reading it on my own. Nevertheless, it's an extremely well-written book.

I thought "How to Win Friends and Influence People" was a pretty good book back when I read it.

The dahli lama wrote multiple books on the art of happiness and other topics. Meditation saved my mind.

Excellent book. I've been thinking about rereading it lately.

It made me laugh, which is positive - I guess.

Hagakure and Letters From a Stoic are two of the best books Ive ever read.

Steppenwolf is probably the opposite of what you are looking for here. There is redemption though, so i'm going to go with it.
