When I was a kid I went to the pet store with ma mom one day, not even sure why really, and while inside I saw they had DEGUS!
I was like broooooooooooooooooo wtf is that thing. and the worker told me they were like squirrels in Chile, and similar to chinchillas. I asked if they were nice and the guy told me it really depends on which one you get but generally speaking you can handle them and they will be nice.
I told my mom I had to have one. She complied with my demand and next thing you know were on the way home with my new chunky degu named Ben. Well wouldn't ya know, the dork at the pet store sold me a GURL and told me it was a dude, and I only found out BEN was a BENETTA after she had babies!
I named them Hunter and Shawn, after HHH and HBK of course.
Got 3 degus for the price of one, fuckin baller deal.
They were always the chillest little creatures.
if I close my eyes and reminisce real hard, I can bring myself right back to my childhood bedroom at night when all the lights are off and every thing is silent - - except for one of my degu bros just absolutely SHREDDING it on their big exercise wheel.
