Hello :icon_chee
I want to learn some Japanese over the year (I love the Japanese culture ). But since i am living in UK and there are no other language school around, the only solution left is by softwares and books. Can anybody in the forum point out some good Japanese learning books or softwares for complete beginner ? Much help appreciated.

I can teach you how to speak my language-Rosetta Stone.

The best thing to do to learn a language is to make a friend and hang with them.

I wish i could.

The software the guy above suggested is too fucking expensive for me afford.

Oh well.

Assimil is one of the best for learning foreign languages. It starts you off at a slow pace for listening comprehension but you get immersed in the language by using it right away.

I said the same thing until I moved over here, now I can't wait to leave. I learned a good deal of Japanese just by hanging out with some **** and dating a few of the local girls.

Rosetta Stone isn't all it's hyped up to be imo. You would be much better off by finding something that actually explains the launguage to you and how verb conjugation works. Roseetta Stone doesn't explain anything to you whatsoever.
