What do you guys think. He has some VERY heavy hands, but I doubt he will ever get his ground game up to par to be able to hang with the top guys in Bellator.

Honestly all he had are heavy hands. Doesn't even look like he trains on the ground at all. He needs to either take the initiative to train or may as well give up.

He would get annihilated in Glory, but he would be unstoppable in Toughman contests.

He would get beat badly. He wouldn't be the first HW with REALLY heavy hands.

I don't think he'd fair very well. But I'd still watch.

I don't remember much of Lavar in the UFC and I don't really watch Bellator. Last night we didn't even get to see Kongo and him go at it, cuz Kongo just out wrestle/ground fought him.

Still though, you need more than Heavy Hands, you need skills to fight the best(top 5-10) in Glory at any weight, FW is pretty weak, but the top 5 are good. Even in the HW division, which is one of the weakest that they have along with FW you need real striking skills(and Glory is NOT K-1, so don't even start talking about Overeem, maybe 5% of the fighters are former K-1 guys). I mean, Dustin Jacoby has heavy hands, look what happened to him when he tried Glory, he didn't have the skills, he's 1-5 in the promotion.

He'd be able to KO guys below the top 10 like Barry, I mean he's KO'd him before.

Lavar would get seriously injured. He would need to go to holland for 6 months to a year to train and learn that high level.

Thats why barry got murdered cause he stayed with his crappy coaches and not go back to his roots

If Lavar hadn't been KOd by Spartan in 20 seconds, I'd say why not to Glory.

But truth is he's a glass cannon. He'd get busted badly in Glory.

He should get on the Kimbo Slice backyard circuit.

The mind-boggling thing is that he trains at AKA.

Bro he would have to move there, change his name to Leveresque Johannson and he STILL wouldn't have what it takes to compete in GLORY.

I think people are being too hard on him. They knew if Kongo got him down it would be easy work. He is what he is..He's on the wrong side of 35 and he doesn't know BJJ, it won't change. He almost finished Kongo...if Kongo would have banged like a modern warrior we would be singing Lavar's praises...win or lose. Kongo took the easy way out.

Why not?

I am down for it.

Lavar "4K" Johnson vs Pat "HD" Barry: The Rematch, presented by GLORY and Condom Depot....don't front like you wouldn't watch it.

Id watch it tbh. A lot of people are really underestimating Johnson. I honestly believe he would pick up some wins in Glory.

A modern warrior should know how to grapple.

And even if he didn't win at all, the guy would at least lose in spectacular fashion.
