Australia is higher than 1.58 right now.

We also had the worlds highest median wealth earlier this year but likely off a bit as house prices have fallen a bit.

The Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report found that the median personal wealth per Australian adult was a massive $409,055 (US$273,900) - making Aussies the richest people on the planet.

Britain was wise to send all their prisoners to a paradise and leave them there.

GDP says nothig about the people living in that country.
PPP is more meaningful info
GDP is great for polititians trying to say how good their country is because of the GDP stats

An important point too many people dont consider. When factoring in PPP, the world looks more like this:

(according to the IMF)
1. China 30.2 Trillion
2. United States 25.3 Trillion
3. India 11.7 Trillion
4. Japan 6.1 Trillion
5. Germany 5.3 Trillion
6. Russia 4.4 Trillion
7. Indonesia 4 Trillion
8. United Kingdom 3.8 Trillion
9. Brazil 3.7 Trillion
10. France 3.7 Trillion
11. Turkey 3.2 Trillion
12. Italy 3 Trillion
13. Mexico 2.9 Trillion
14. South Korea 2.7 Trillion
15. Canada 2.2 Trillion
16. Spain 2.2 Trillion
17. Saudi Arabia 2 Trillion
18. Australia 1.6 Trillion
19. Taiwan 1.6 Trillion
20. Poland 1.6 Trillion
21. Iran 1.6 Trillion
22. Egypt 1.6 Trillion
23. Thailand 1.5 Trillion

Interesting that 2 of the top 5 don’t have a military. (That’s still the case, right?).

Fastest GDP growth in the first half of 2022:
  1. Brazil: 2.3%
  2. Italy: 1.2%
  3. Japan: 1%
  4. UK: 0.9%
  5. Germany: 0.9%
  6. France: 0.3%
  7. China: -1.2%
  8. USA: -2.2%
  9. India: -2.8%
Brazil? I'm guessing because of the massive drop they had sustained in the past few years. They had nowhere else to go but up.

USA number 1 and California owning shit!

Yes but anyhow the central bank acted early on and controlled inflation before many first world nations and much faster and more effectively than comparable places such as Argentina and Turkey. That caused a surge in foreign investment and a decent enough business climate. Add to that the commodity boom we've been living with grain prices spiking and Brazil having a strong agricultural sector.
