2 companies: Combat Sports and Ring to Cage.

CSI makes IMF tech knee pads for striking (Their premier) and they also make a regular pair.

Ring to Cage pretty much copies them; except they put their MiM foam into both their deluxe and regular knee pads.

Just wondering if any of you guys have ever used them?

I know they provide knee protection, but do they also protect your opponent from the impact of a knee?

I just got the ring to cage one, I'll be testing it out this saturday.

I hate imf knee and elbow pads, they comply constrict mobility and are very expensive.

Most fighters I know at AKA and now my current gym use volleyball knee pads. They protect your knee well from kicks and banging knees, but you can still damage ribs when clinching. Stick to hitting with your inner thight.

The good thing about volleyball knee pads is that most sporting good stores have them so you can try them on and knee their heavy bags.

Do the volleyball knee pads tend to be thick enough to offer some decent protection to your sparring partner?

What brands do you recommend?

Of course im not suggesting full force knees; but just something to take the edge off during sparring.

I was looking at the regular r2c and combat sports knee pads as well...
Its funny because they look thicker and "softer" than the IMF tech/deluxe ones.
In fact, I talked to Moshin at R2C and he said the regular ones are softer actually - but that after a while they get too soft and need to be replaced. Thats the catch.

What ever brand fits you well, just try them all on.

In this picture Cain is wearing wrestling knee pads, while, the other guy is wearing volleyball knee pads.

I wear volleyball knee pads from big 5. I think they were 15.
