I've been noticing mma fighters using knee pads in their training photos. I'm kind of interested in getting a pair if its not too expensive. I was wondering if anyone know the brand used in these pics.
The guy on the left looks like he's using volleyball kneepads. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with kneeguards for light striking. Thanks!

Our fight team has been using them in prep for an upcoming ammy Muay Thai tournament. We just use volleyball kneepads. There is a good selection from super thick to more streamlined; I picked up some Nike kneepads I like a lot. In addition to helping with knee strikes they also cut down on injuries from knees clashing when both fighters throw roundhouse kicks.

The first pic are Asics volleyball bubble knee pads. They have more padding and work better if you are going to be on your knees a lot. The are like $14 /pr at Academy or whatever sporting goods store is close to you. The only bad thing is they can get hot.

Be careful about what's on the inside....
Especially if you are going to be on your knees a lot.

I have some Volleyball pads that wore the skin off of my knee when I got sweaty and was doing long training sessions.
I think they were Mizuno.

Switched to Asics wrestling knee pads and like them a lot more.
You can also wear a sleeve under Bubble pads but it will get hot.

man..i remember trying to kick with volleyball knee pads..the one size fits all knee pads..it felt too constricting and i couldnt really throw my kicks right..i dont think my knees are even that big to have that problem..even the L/XL wrestling knee pads felt constricting for me..theres volleyball knee pads by UA that felt great but they only had L last time i was at the sports store..it felt fine but i think XL would be better..i really like those knee pads that has 2 stretchy straps though..those are nice but the only size that fit me was in black i want white ones so i could dye them if i want

Makes sense and it's a good idea to help avoid unnecessary injury. I've yet to see anyone at my club use them but maybe I'll start the trend.

I am going to be using it for sparring and to avoid knee to knee collisions. Just wondering if it protects the whole knee including the sides ?
