Killer bee gi seems to be awesome, are they?

I've read some reviews and been in touch with the company and I've got high expectations on the kimonos. they look absolutly beautiful and the collar is getting praise. the ripstop pants are also great apparently. the company reputation is good and jesse seen to be a nice guy.

with all that said, being from europe ordering from the states I prolly wont be able to return the gis if im not diggin em. So i really wanna get it right from the get go!

Im 6'1 185lbs so the A3 would probably fit me nicely(?)

how does the killer bees stand up to say Atamas (great) or Tatamis (affordable)?

I have 3 of them.. The quality is great.. I can't really compare it to Tatami since i've never had one, but I have had an Atama single weave. The KB blows the Atama out of the water. The gi's are true to size and while the pants may shrink 1/2 - 1 inches the jacket stays relatively the same. Jesse is a cool guy and will help you out. I don't know anyone that has expressed any dislike for a KB gi and I have referred it to 5-6 people.

i'll go ahead and give them another thumbs up for quality...

i don't personally own one, although i've bought many of their drawstrings, they rock, but i've got many friends that own KB gi's...they really like them. it's a quality product, and to echo stile0, Jesse backs his stuff up, very accommodating.

im tall and leaning out (6'3, 235 now down from 265) i will say that they have a stockier cut than most other gi's such as some ground controls and shoyoroll style gi's. take that into consideration. my sleeves are much shorter than i like, other than that i like it. super durable and dries fast hanging as well.

maybe a little wider. there is alot of fabric from left to right. quite a bit of overlap. i dont mind that though. i dont like my gi coming undone in the first minute of a roll.

yeah, I kind of like some overlap. its nice when the lapels stay put until i want to use em. Ive kind of a slim/averege to athletic build and long limbs. love the atamas fit, the aren't wide, but has got some overlap.. TY again!

I have a Killer Bee Ligustica (newer edition and not the plain one) in black with matching ripstop pants. Both are in A3. I am about 6'2" and maybe 165 pounds (at most). I actually like the fit. It's slightly baggy, but that's actually just my preference. Since I have long arms, I'm pleased with the gi since it's one of the few that actually fits well on my arms.

As soon as I can muster the funds I'm going to get a Scutellata.

I absolutely love the Gi. It really feels great to roll in. It's tough, has a great collar, and is sort of medium in weight. Although I can't compare it to a Tatami, I once had an Atama Single weave (which I ended up selling due to a terrible fit) and this Killer Bee is far superior. Actually, I've had a bunch of gis come and go. This is one of the keepers. One of these days I'll put up a detailed review of the Ligustica with pictures and maybe even some video footage.

Jesse, the head of the Killer Bee brand, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever come across. He answers emails promptly, and levels with you 100 percent about everything he sells. I've never come across one single review about Killer Bee gis that was less than stellar.

Needless to say in conclusion, I highly recommend Killer Bee. To answer your question: they are definitely awesome.

They are awesome! The top and bottom are very well made/attractive and imo superior to a lot of other brands.

Jesse is a very nice guy that represents his product well and even sponsors a couple of Jiu Jitsu guys.

I have one and did a review of it. Sleeves are perfect for me, best collar on any gi that I own, I don't really wear it that much because I find the skirt too short. thats a personal preference, I know a lot of BJJ people like VERY minimal skirt.

They're very high quality gis. I think they're perfect for someone slimmer with long limbs and either a short body or who likes a short skirt (on the gi, lol)

the new plain ligusticas have a longer skirt. makes the gi absolutely perfect.
