What measures do you take to avoid getting kicked in the nuts in the sparring? Does it impact your own level of gameness?

How often do people get kicked in the nuts in your club?

Used to happen every now and then before I became competent at checking leg kicks.

Once you are ok at checking them the defense against a groin kick is basically the same as the defense against an inside leg kick.

The majority of kickboxing sparring I’ve done has been light, if I sparred with the intensity I do at a boxing gym it would happen more often but if a guy is aiming there they should be kicked out of the gym ASAP.

The way I avoid it is to stay home, never train, never go out and only spar pillows or jackets.

I'm referring to situations when both kick at the same time. You can't check a kick and throw a kick at the same time, and you need to have confidence in your partner

Not much you can do in that scenario then other than wear a good box but it’s rare enough I wouldn’t think about it.

If my coach said we are going to do hard kickboxing sparring Id be more worried about getting put down by a knee or kick to the body than the off chance there is an awkward alignment, we attack at the same time and I end up getting kicked up the middle.

The actual answer to this is to kick them in the nuts also if they repeatedly do it, and refuse to spar with them again. If questioned about it by the coach don't say anything.

Also, if they keep doing it it might be because you're not giving them a chance to work anything on you. Letting them work on you would be the path of least resistance and what most sane people would do.

right, cause according to him, he uses the bladed stance which is excellent because it wont get you kicked in the nuts. Or maybe hes using the square stance now which gets kicked in the nuts so easy lol

A gym I know a beginner young guy got kicked in the groin. He had forgotten his cup for MT practise.

Went down in pain an ambulance was called that night he underwent a serious operation. MT practise was shutdown his parents were next of kin.

He had to have his testicle removed. Jokes were made online but its no joke getting kicked in the balls.

usually happens to beginners cause they flick their kicks with their toes flexed as stated better guys know how to kick bt shit happens

u sure u didnt picture him as the one kicking people in the nuts trying to develop some kung fu hybrid thai kick?

upload_2019-10-14_12-19-29.gifNo kicking in the groin, no Krav Maga. just kidding. Martial arts is a combat sport. The risk of getting hurt comes with it

Very rare. On occasions that i do i just mentally block it out and keep going. Usually, the guys are wearing shinpads anyway, and most are decent to not kick crazy hard in sparring. Also, its smart to avoid the “r*tard strength” guys if possible or the ones that throw spinning strikes with no control. Just use your eyes and avoid the wild sparring partners that spar like its the world championships, usually when coaches say pair up its pretty obvious who is the one everyone avoids.

Why are you getting kicked in the nuts at your boxing gym?

Oh right. Your personality. I forgot...

I didnt even know you had nuts i thought you had a pussy thats why you waited so long to even go to a gym.

I never really adjusted nothing to prevent getting kicked in the balls. But movement and checking kicks does help. Also ive never been kicked in the balls when kicking at the sametime as my sparring partner, but i do have small knee problems from that shit because my knee kept colliding everytime with this dumbass, who kept doing that shit.

I am a southpaw and I’ve been kicked in the nuts way to many times.. when I get kicked in my private section, it is always a inside low kick with the rear right leg, or a low teepkick.. there is not really a lot you can do to prevent getting hit there except check the low kicks.. I once had a fight where i was kicked in the nuts 3 times and my opponent didn’t even get a point reduction due to all of them being ruled accidental.. knocked him down late in the last round and he didn’t make the count so it was real satisfying to get some payback for all those low blows ;)!
