A 100% sure they will feed Cannonier to Khamzat, Whittaker too dangerous for him and loser of izzy/pereira is really too high risk medium reward if not for a TS

Ok it's not official but if Dana doesn't lie like he does once in a blue moon and we use some logic it's pretty much confirmed that Khamzat is fighting Cannonier

That will be a nice fight and a nice test for Khamzat cause Cannonier has KO power. Still think Khamzat takes him easily

If Pereira wins they'll do Pereira/Whittaker. If it's Izzy they'll probably give him some bullshit matchup like Dricus to keep him busy

It has to be Whittaker, they're clearly saving him for something after the Costa fight got cancelled.

Unless they're still trying to get Costa to fight Whittaker, I wouldn't be surprised since the UFC really don't want Costa to leave the promotion on a win.

Cannonier is a very dangerous fight. If it happens, that would be an incredible fight.

Canonnier and whittaker are dangerous. Build him up with DDP first. My main concern is that we don't know how his stamina will hold up at mw and whether he can take middleweight shots.

And frankly it's hard for khamzat to look good against either cannonier or whittaker even if he wins. I think khamzat should look good against dricus which would bump up his hype for a title and if he doesn't, he's nowhere near ready for a title.

Also if Vettori wins today will be be #3? He deserves it imo. That's the toughest matchup for khamzat

Cannonier is a pretty tough matchup honestly. He's got such a tricky skill set for wrestlers to fight he's got that Derrick Lewis style of just standing up without gassing out. He seemed to KO Brunson out of his prime which is a very impressive and underrated win.
Whittaker like other mentioned as a potential fight would be the worst matchup possible, dudes the cleanest defensive wrestler MW has ever seen and is a top 3 striker in the division.

Strickland would be the best bet for a top 10 win. He's not too physical and has been out grappled earlier in his career.
Costa, Vettori and Du Plessis all have their flaws but they're massive men and they also seemingly will not be wrestled for wins.


MW usually gets a ton of flack for being weak but it looks pretty solid now days, I just find it hard seeing Khamzat finding much success
