Q: Khabib have you ever thought that you have already reached everything in your career being a UFC champion and having defended your belt? Have you thought about retirement?

But actually I really thought about it. I am 30 now and I am not going to stay after 35. Life should go on, you should take care of your brain. I don't want to become a punching bag for other fighters to be knocked out in every fight. You saw Chuck Liddell recently. He was dropped in his last 7 fights. But he is one of the greatest fighters. You should know when to leave. Because new younger and hungrier fighters are going to compete with you. That's not my decision, it just always was that way. Every fighter has his own prime and can never go back to it. Right now, I am in my prime, won the belt , defended it , and don't think about retirement."

Q: Khabib you said your fans are splitted up in Instagram, and before fight there was big hype in social media, and half of them thought you win, other half rooting for Conor.
Khabib: "you misunderstood where they splitted up. Some people thought I would finish him in the 3rd round, others at 4th. None of my followers thought that Conor would win. Some people message me" please, tell me what round you finish him, I want to bet" . But I said I can't help you, I don't like betting. Just watch the fight, if I say the result straight away, it won't be interesting, so that's where opinions are divided."
Q: I just want to say alot in Russia were rooting for Conor and they were negative to you, that was wierd to me. What do you think about this?
Khabib:" I don't think this way..uhm let's say it this way. It is a sport. You can root for whoever you want. It's not like "I am Khabib, you must root for me" . For example, I am a fan of Real Madrid, and fans of Barcelona will think, why he doesn't root for Barcelona? The guy near you laughs, he is a Barcelona fan. But me, I'm with Real Madrid, I've been a fan since I watched their match in 1998. I watch their match live whenever I can, if I can't , I'll watch it recorded. You can't make people be a fan of you. It doesn't matter to me."

Khabib is already past his prime (2014-2017) now he looks thin and weak to me

yup, biologically a human body begins to deteriorate after the age of 27. This is doubly true for athletes since they burn through so much calories that their telomeres are noticeably shorter. However, due to Ramadan, his constant practice of fasting has offset pre-mature aging through autophagy. Moreover, Khabib neither drinks nor smokes so he is also in a very healthy state. With all this in mind, Khabib does have 5 more years left relative to the average MMA fighter. However, his ability to continue performing at his peak is less certain though. This is evident from his difficult cut when he was preparing for Conor. I think he should be good for 3~4 more years but not in the LW. He needs to move up a weight class. He doesn't smoke nor drink yet he has chronic liver shutdowns. Woodley better get ready to defend.
 
When they are 25 they all say they will retire at 30, when they are 30 they all say they will retire at 35. In reality, they keep fighting until 39, then retire and announce their comeback at 41.
