Khabibs Coach Javier Mendez of American Kickboxing Academy thinks Conor McGregor is Khabibs toughest opponent. Even going as far as to pick him over Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson both collegiate wrestlers.

Coach agrees with Brett when he implied Khabib did very little damage and had very little control (Humongous cap) in the first round

What do you guys think? Is he right?

If Conor can still do to poirier what he did the first time I would accept this statement.

Honestly if Conor wouldn't be so overloaded on the backfoot when tired as well as dismissive when it comes to strategizing, I would agree with Mendez.

He has best ring control, insane potency and instincts, plus depth in clinch do deal with anyone (even Khabib in Conor's worst performance struggled when clinching him).

How much would he make off another mega Khabib vs Conor PPV selling around 2.4-3.0 million...
how much does a trainer take from a purse in mma? Anyone know?

Javier has been trying to build his platform for awhile now. Got the wrong people to do it, imo. The guy who hosts the javier podcast is a cool dude, but he's not good. Maybe with time and experience he'll grow into more but yeah. The woman who runs aka access is a much better content creator.

I feel like if the coach is overlooking gaethje, this is starting to look like a curse.
Tbf he just answered what he was asked. I hope he doesn't overlook Gaethje tho that imo is Khabibs toughest matchup to date but I still rate Jav as a coach very self-aware knows what needs to be done to bring the W home and doesn't fuck around. I like that in a Head coach.
