Holland vs Malott in a month at Vancouver . Malott is a year older with 15 MMA fights compared to Holland with 43 MMA fights

Holland is my pick having a longer reach , his swarming chaos style attacks and chin help him against the less experienced Malott who while a good striker is not as battle proven , though he did show grit in his last fight where he stopped Charles Radtke. Malott will have to take chances going forward

Kevin won't ever be champion but it is nice to see active fighters. This will be his 5th fight in 2025.
One would think more fighters would want to maximize the small window of opportunity they have and fight more to earn more, but no.
I think part of that is UFC being scummy and can cut you after one loss despite you having contract for more fights. So you are not willing to take too many chances if you don't have balls and believe in yourself more. You want to train more to gain more skills to have a better chance of winning. So that you also get the win money.
Hard to be a fan of someone who fights once a year.

Except that UFC doesn't allow them to. There's guys begging for fights all the time.

It's curious why so often the UFC chooses a late replacement that just competed while skipping over guys who've been waiting for half a year just to get one.

Great point. A fighters only way to insure they remain part of the UFC roster seems to be having a style that appeases the casuals, speak fondly of the company and give shout outs to Dana. Begging on your knees for a post fight bonus also seems to be encouraged.

Like it!

Good fight, the levels are pretty well pitched, it's Malott's second attempt at fighting at a higher level, this time against a guy who loses quite a bit, but never to scrubs.

Fun stylistic fight too, gonna have to pick Holland, but y'never know.

Hilarious that Malott is older than Holland though WTF

Ah, the semi annual lay up for Holland to get back in the win column..

Good old fashion "tune up fight"

Guess the transition of UFC becoming everything Dana said was wrong with boxing is almost complete.

he’s making close to half a mil, offcourse he wants to often.

Does Mike even know what a 45-70 is?

Probably banned in Canadia

Kevin by whatever he chooses to use

Good test for Mike. Gets another gatekeeper fight after the Magny loss. Pick 'em fight in my book.

Lay up? I just checked and Mallott is a -150 favorite. If you think this is a layup fight for Holland and can bet him at + odds...seems like some free $

Holland's 2-2 this year and the UFC has not hidden that they want Malott to be a star, especially in Canada where this card is taking place. It's less of a layup for Holland and more of test for Malott to see where he's really at.

Mallot’s is almost 34 yo and his best win is.. Mickey Gall 🤣

I’m sure the UFC wants a Canadian star, but this guy is not going to be it. Even if he beats Holland, his ceiling is likely top-10.
