Karim Zidan delves into some of the controversies and concerns surrounding Eagles FC

I'm super biased, because having a 165 an 175 division would basically create an extra division for wrestlers, but I've always liked the idea of having a 165 and a 175. Call the 165 welterweight and call the 175 cruiserweight or something (I know in boxing it's heavier but it's the only unused name).

As far as the nepotism or business practices are concerned. If money is mismanaged then EFC will go belly up. This is both the MMA business and a business in the caucuses. Neither have reputations for upstanding business practices. So I don't know why anyone would expect differently here. If it fails, it fails. If it floats, it floats. I'm just a guy who watches some MMA fights sometimes...

Couple of days ago it was announced that the Saudi Arabia Kingdom now owns Dreamhack for those who knows what that is. It seems that the dictators are looking for sportwashing.

Khabib has family members... that... work for him?!?

Shit. That is a threat to freedom if I ever heard it. Great thing that Zidan is here to bash every single person that is even remotely related to any Russian person that has ever lived. Really consistent record that he bashes literally anyone and anything that speaks Russian, so his consistency must really speak to how honest he is. And a really good journalist. Almost as good a journalist as all those Nazis that made hit piece after hit piece on everything in the universe related to an ethnicity that wasn't theirs back in the 30s.

Thanks Zidan for not putting out clickbait bullshit designed to cater to the lowest hanging fruit prejudice in Western culture. So brave / so journalistic.

Nepotism accusation is kinda funny tho
Fertito brothers were Dana's friends - bought UFC, installed their friend as its president, who got his friend rogan a commentator job -
nepotism is bad when you install someone who has no credentials or skills for the job - AKA Hunter Biden lol

The dudes Khabib installed as the main figureheads of the promo have been in the mma business for a long time, and have more experience than Dana did when he first started out.

As for Kadyrov connection - that's a fair point. I wonder why these journos are not pointing out that connection to the golden boy in the UFC (forgot his name) - he is in more Kadyrov videos than Khabib could ever dream of.

It would appear that sellout journos start seeing the kadyrov connection only when someone leaves UFC - lol
I guess they don't want Dana W to strip them of media credentials for covering UFC - he does that sometimes, especially if they are right on the money.

Point I'm trying to make is - it's rather odd for this magazine to say all these things about eagle fc, but not ufc, which also has nepotism, shady deals, shady connections, and fighters directly connected to entities under US sanctions.
I thought MMA journalism was a bit above CNN in terms of objectivity, but clearly that's not the case.

Kadyrov + Ali, all the rest is meeting his word count quota lol

I think nepotism in Russian mma scene is not something unusual, from what I can remember
M-1, Yandiev brothers fought there while their father owned part of it (majority of M-1 but I might be wrong)
AMC Fight Nights, I saw one fighter mentioned in interview that current owner Muradov and FW champion Eminov are relatives
Eagle FC, cousin of Zavurov is fighting there
In ACB, if I remember it right, son of owner (Khasiev) competed in their BJJ events, also there is a guy with the same surname who competes in ACA YE events, I suspect he is from their clan
Kadyrov’s kids competed at events of his promotions, also I saw info that Abdul-Kerim Edilov is his nephew or cousin and he fought under mma rules at event of his WFCA and I think all his boxing bouts happened at Kadyrov’s events

That same journalist actually has articles about Chimaev at that same website, where it also mentioned that years ago Khamzat was ISIS fan before starting praising Kadyrov.

In that same article current UFC fighters who represent Akhmat are mentioned, like Ankalaev and Said Nurmagomedov, so “sellout journos” are not afraid to mention Kadyrov’s guys in UFC.

Zavurov was in mma businesss? He was a fighter, cornered some guys and has a gym I wouldn’t count it as being in mma business.
