serious question tho, often times a mat return is scored as a take down but technically if you still have your hands clinched there is no change in control time … is this something actually different in mma vs wrestling… asking for a friend

I think that you touched on it re control.

in any wrestling room/match/etc.., that’s a TD; in MMA, not so much.

I had Usman winning but it wasn’t dominant. 1,2,3 and 2 was 10-8. Colby fought hard, he really did, and outworks Kamara in 4 and 5. But neither round was overwhelming. 48-46

maybe it was just the optics of Colby’s takedowns being unsuccessful, for me. I’m curious to see what the Sherdog PbP guys had it. I’ll add it in a sec.

Got Usman winning the rubber match but Colby was game just like in the 1st fight. Guy is annoying but he is tough and never backs down

The two men having words at the end and shaking hands was great giving how much trash talk they went on

Colby just stole the last 30 seconds of round 3

And Usman even had a fence grab to try and stop it, if he didn't the TD would have been more evident and Colby would have mounted

This was yet another one of those "you have to beat the champ to be the champ" fights that I hate re-watching. 3-2 Colby is probably the fairest score with no 10-8 rounds. I can't believe the UFC is posting this fight rather than the Masvidal or Burns wins. Especially since Burns fought Chimaev and wasn't finished. And Covington has as title fight upcoming.
