Just how good was Brendan Scaub?

He is obviously very successful now but he was not half as bad a fighter as many would have you believe.

He choked the life out of Mitrione who smashed Fedor. He knocked out one of the most prolific knockout artists of all time Mirko Crocop. He also beat Gonzaga who fought for the belt after headkicking Crocops head off.

He also entered the UFC with only 4 fights while taking on veterans like Nog, Crocop, Roy Nelson etc.

So that BEGS the question, just how good is Brendan Schaub?

I think he’s underrated 100%

Beat a few corpes of old guys, lost to a bunch of guys who weren't very good.

By UFC standards I'd say he's about a 4/10 fighter.

Wildly inconsistent, chinny, not great at anything, bad fight iq, not a fighters heart.

About all he had going for him was size and athleticism.

He had decent hands and terrible head movement. I think that in today's HW division he could still churn out some wins. But then that's more an indictment on the division than a true reflection of his skill. Solid fighter though. Not underrated really, his accomplishments are thin and his career was short.
