After last night I really want to see it. Not saying Jose would win but u would like to see it without the mind games being in effect which as of late it's no longer a problem for anyone.

I think Aldo wins this now.

Conor's not the same...

I dont like it. I dont think Aldo should go up to 155 and then go back down to 135.

Conor will never go down to 145 again

Also i dont think Conor does it,cos that ko is one of the few things he still has to brag about.

Conor gets absolutely demolished if they fight today.

I always said the first fight was a fucking fluke. We got to see them fight for 10 seconds and Aldo caught McGregor in that exchange as well, the KO could have went either way. The rematch never happened because they know that wouldn’t have been the outcome again.

Aldo went down in weight. Conor went up.

One was corageous, one wasn't.

You decide who's either.

Oh, maybe they both did what seemed the best at the moment of their respective carreers? OH NO!!

Just don't want to watch it cause Conor isn't as disciplined

While I would like to see a McGregor - Aldo rematch, Aldo fights at 135 now and McGregor fights at 155 and 170. Aldo would probably have to agree to the fight being at 155 which is not a natural weight for him and bulking up for that fight would be counter-productive for making 135 again in the future. I think Aldo would first need to make a business decision that he is done fighting at 135 before agreeing to a McGregor rematch. I doubt Aldo beats Yan based upon their previous fight. Probably has his hands full with Sterling too. So I doubt he ever wears the 135 belt. But Aldo will also never wear the 145 belt again, so going after money $$$ fights would be a good way to finish off his long and successful career.

Great post other than the sterling comment. Aldo would destroy Sterling.

its not like the first fight was super convincing that Conor would definitely win a rematch who knows how it could go if Aldo didn't dive in like an idiot

I wouldn't say it's not a problem.

Once somebody has gotten under your skin to that effect once...
It's not that easy to undo them from your nerves.

But skills on skills...
I still think McGregor wins due to the height and (mainly) reach advantage.

I’ve always wanted to see the rematch, but it makes no sense now.

Thanks for the reply. I was honest when I said "probably" because I don't really have a strong feeling on predicting an Aldo - Sterling fight as I've unfortunately never seen a full Sterling fight, only a few highlights here and there. I do think Yan gets his belt back from Sterling in the rematch based upon my reading of the round by round breakdowns of their fight. It sounded like Yan was very much in control until his DQ foul.

The mind game excuse is nonsense, Aldo fought as he usually does in the first 13 seconds, the same applies to Poirier.

I would want aldo to win but unfortunately dont see it happening.
Aldo won against another shorter stature fighter, he fought on the backfoot and used his best weapons (jab, knees, uppercuts, check left hooks)
Which mainly work on shorter fighters trying to close distance (besides the check hook)
Aldo still lets punches wiz right past his face when hes getting pressured and mcgregor can pressure him from a safe distance and i dont think aldo has the tools to get it done more time than not.

i dont think aldo beating munhoz proves much in his hypothetical rematch, i still think he gets kod sadly

Payday is the best reason. He experienced being dominant champ. With rematch he can experience opportunity for a chsnce at redemption and tons of money.

Aldo has looked better than Conor lately, but think his record would look similar to Conor if he fought Mayweather, Khabib, and Dustin back to back as well. Conor is more a businessman than fighter today.
