To this day, I'm still bummed out that we never got to see Pettis vs Aldo. If you think about it, Conor was really a game changer, because I still remember Dana really not being big on guys just move up and fight for the titles, just like Aldo wanted to but he really couldn't unless he gave up the belt, which made no sense.

I feel like this fight could've gone either way, but this would've been a match between the unstoppable TD force vs immovable TDD object.

I feel like Aldo had EXACT style to beat someone like Khabib. Khabib should've lost against Tibau, and I personally think Aldo would have had the best TDD that Khabib would have faced in his entire career.

Aldo by dec.

Agreed. I think Aldo could've pulled it off, but IIRC, Aldo would've come into the fight as a late notice. Not sure how he would've done, but a full-camp Aldo poses a lot of problems for Khabib.

Even if Khabib wins in dominating fashion, Aldo isn't going to be losing a whole lot here either.

Not that Khabib eats a lot of those leg and calf kicks which can surprise him and keep the fight standing for a few rounds.

The takedown and the grappling ability of Khabib is where he has the complete edge over Aldo, and it could end via a decision or a submission. However...

By no means can Khabib deliver the same kind of death blow to Aldo's career like how McGregor did because for one, he's probably not going to KO Aldo in 8 seconds.

And secondly, he's hardly a fighter that tries to get into a fighter's psyche and distorts it to the point of Aldo completely losing his marbles.

What can set this fight slightly in Aldo's favour could be his agility and the random flying knees that can pop up if Khabib decides to spam takedowns over and over. If Aldo can land a kick to Khabib's ribs or land a kick on his arms, he can stand a chance here.

The more likely scenario would be Khabib taking down Aldo to the ground do his usual shtick but depending on the amount of prep time given, the results of this fight varies because psychological warfare between both sides may be minimal for this fight.

Is Aldo allowed to call in Werdum as a training partner and coach or no?
