Love both fighters but I just put a piece of the puzzle together. Both Jorge and Colby were still boys until Colby won the interim belt. Even Jorge himself says that’s when Colby supposedly screwed his coach over after he beat RDA. Like Colby said, Jorge got jealous and and distant once Colby’s career took off and accomplished more than he ever did at the time despite having a longer career. It seems to me Jorge was looking for a reason to start a beef with Colby once he became a bigger star than him so used a excuse about Colby not paying his coach the right amount.

Jorge was clearly jealous and maybe wanted to angle a fight with him because he was close to being the champ, I mean seeing the guy you let sleep on your coach for a year end up making far more money and having all the women and fame had to piss him off. Just seems kind of weird the fallout happened at the exact time Masvidal took a hiatus after losing and Colby won the interim belt setting himself up with a title fight. Jorge even comes off as bitter when talking about it.

People always want you to do good but never better than them.

Lol, Jorge never said anything bad about Colby before Colby attacked him. After the Nate fight almost fall out, Jorge tweeted saying he wants title shot against USman, and Colby start talking shit about him.
From what I remember Jorge was the one who said something about Colby first which led to them both being kicked out of ATT. Jorge was saying he’d fight anyone for his kids and all that

That was after they talk shit about each other. Colby started it by calling Jorge stuff after Jorge petition for title shot when his Nate Diaz fight almost fell out because Nate tested positive.

The beef started right after Colby beat RDA for the interim belt then once Jorge came back he started taking small shots at Colby during interviews and talking shit about the way he promotes fights

Stop making shit up. We don't know what happened behind the scenes but Colby started it publicly.

Jorge never talked shit publicly about Colby, Colby started it first. This video is literally Jorge reacting to when Colby started talking shit about him.

I mean this kinda goes without saying because let's be real here.... who ISN'T jealous of Colby?

Good looks? Cardio for long sex sessions? Elite grappling? Diaz Bros style boxing? Giant schlong? It's better if you just accept that he threatens your self esteem instead of fighting it. If I could have a bang sponsorship and fuck a different 10/10 everyday of the week, all while grinding out guys with relentless takedowns and chain wrestling, I absolutely would come on let's be real bro come on bro

Right after Jorge beat Till he started talking about Colby

I believe it originally stemmed from after Colby won the interim and was stripped and was about to fight Lawler. He said Jorge was the Robin to his Batman. Masvidal likely didn’t enjoy living in his shadow career wise, and after they both became ascendant at that time Masvidal likely didn’t feel like they were as close as before. Of course his hood background he couldn’t ever be emotionally honest.

I think it probably stems from being in the same division. Jorge was the fighter that was training for a longer time. He lost his fight to Maia. Colby then goes beat Maia in Brazil for a title shot.

The coaching stuff is weird. Colby gave the guy 5k on top of the other 5 percent he pays the gym. Apparently the coach wanted 5 percent of Colby's purse.

Yeah I was going to mention Masvidal also took a long time off to find himself again during that time Colby won the belt. I've said it before, most people just found reasons to hate on him. Colby most likely was just beating everyone up at the gym that's why you have fighters like Dustin ducking him even though Colby made a public call out and talked shit about him and his wife. I understand why Brazilians wouldn't like him but seems like everyone else was just looking for a reason.

Yes it's very true, people want you to do good but never better than them. Not everyone can be happy for other people especially in an individual sport like mma. You see it all the time in mma gyms, there's a lot of resentment from older fighters who's careers didn't really pan out and they can't hide it sometimes with the things they say and do. Usually people are only happy and supportive if it also benefits them, if it doesn't they won't. I'm sure people supported Colby while he was at ATT but once he was on his own, his success doesn't benefit those people anymore. Before it can be propped up to make ATT look good, but now that Colby has his own team that isn't the case anymore.
