Jones joined the UFC fresh and young

Faced older and washed competition

The exception is Gane, who doesn't even know how to spell or write wrestling

Poatan was old and weakened by severe dehydration when he debuted

Faced younger and prime competition

More HL KOs and exciting fights

Today, Jones = fat and old arthritis grandpa

Poatan = still in his prime and surprisingly getting better

I can't imagine anyone even coming close to Jon's run, especially from 2010-2018.

Well only one of them hit a pregnant woman with a car and ran off, and also hid under the cage to avoid a drug test, so...

One's fanbase is in shambles, and the other's isnt.

Crazy for a fighter to have 10 former UFC Champions on their resume...

Most of Jons fights at LHW was against bloated MWs. When Jon fought similar sized actual LHW, like Gus and Reyes, he folded like a piece of paper in a folder.

You keep repeating the line.Desperately.

I like you, but from a scientific point of view, it's definitely sounding like you're the one in shambles.
^^^^Sounds like something that someone in shambles would say!

Jon was always better. Poatan probably got matchmaked to not face wreslters. Jan wreslted him to a split decision. UFC maybe avoided signing wreslters to have him as champ. Poatan got injuries too but he loves the money he gets.

As for old competition.

Shogun was champ.
Machida Rampage were close to their prime.
Bader was young.
Gustafson was young.
DC was 34 ? But said it was the best he has ever been and he trained the most out of any fight. For the first fight.
Thiago was in his apsolute peak.
Reyes at his peak.
Glover was in his prime 22-2 and didn't lose in a decade.
Cyril prime and bigger.

Jon is that fighter.

Jon can grapple with elite fighters. Poatan can't. Poatan is a Glory champ. But MMA wise I think the odds will be 1to 5 for Jon. I'd put it at 1 to 7 chances Jon wins. At least. More like 1-8/9.
I don't see Alex surviving 2 takedowns.

However I don't rate Jon at HW. Ok he dispatched Cyril with holes in his grappling. Besides that he farced retired Stipe. He is the goat because of LHW. At HW he didn't do much. 1 good fight. Or 1 great perforamnce and that's it.

You know that a fighter is great when him getting to be UFC HW champ in his first try, making it look like it's nothing, make people go: oh, easy match up. tailor made. Scripted.

Jones haters in shambles.

Lol, it's embarassing to see people trying to spin shit to say that Jones was not good.

And I like Poatan, the fighter I most like to see rigth now, but just stop with the "better than Jones" bullshit.

Get over it.

Mmm ok he beat Cyril easy. That is 1 elite win. He got a title shot after 3 years retirement. He didn't go trough the top 5. If Reyes and Thiago were hard fights so is Almeida stylistically or Tom or Sergei.
The Stipe pick me was garbage. He turned down Tom for 30 milions.

You decide about his HW status.

Look, there's not one thing I would like to see more than prime Jones getting beat. Not because I don't like Jones, but because it would be a spectacle.

Sadly, that time has passed. Prime Jones can no longer be defeated, as Jones is nearing his 40's. Is realistically 8-10 years past his prime.

So sad for haters. No wonder they're in shambles.
