Male or female writer, do you think?

I got a full page note that looked just like that from my neighbor after I parked too close to his driveway one night.

Big fan of auditory instructions.

No wonder the kid is dead.

dad wrote the letter and mom killed her..or...mom wrote the note and dad kill her....its really that simple.....how this managed to be the fuck up that it is, just beggars belief.

mom wrote it and they are both involved in the killing

Buying in to the line that it wasn't the parents:

I'd guess this note was written by a woman, who was trying to make it look like a man wrote it.

Reasoning:

It's sloppy like a man's writing, but there's too many curly Ts, and fancy A's thrown in, plus letters look heavily pressed, then back to flow, then back to pressed.

Info in the letter goes from basic straightforward, (like a man) to thoughtful instructions, like a woman would ad to a note while writing.

That's my guess. Hey wtf, its a Thursday morning, what else is going on?

Parents did it, or one of her siblings did and parents helped cover it up.

I mean assuming it was some foreign plot (ha!) they'd have had the ransom note pre-written to bring with them to the kidnapping, not hastily written it at the house in rushed, sloppy handwriting.

Probably written with their non-dominant/non writing hand as well.

Pretty much what I was thinking, sloppy on purpose and the fancy a's was what clued me in.

Mom wrote the note dad molested and killed kid.

Not sure if mom knew it was going on before hand or if she had just found out and felt like she needed to protect her husband. Very sad stuff

Obviously the parents killed her.
If your kid is missing you'd turn the house upside Down before calling the police.

When they arrive they find her dead in the basement.

Someone posted from reddit thread where a retired police officer from the department that conducted the investigation was giving some details. Great read it's obvious that the parents were involved.

It kinda sucks that we get these things where everyone knows they did it but they still don't get punished

That was a great read. The ransom amount being the same as the mom's work bonus, the fact that the note was written in the house, the body was dressed\tied (I forget which) after death, no sign of forced entry in the house. Very, very interesting.

yet somehow they got away with it

Reminds me of india's talwar case.
Parents killed their young daughter cause they caught her having sex with the male servant. Both the servant and the daughter were killed by the parents.

The parents were very rich and influential so they almost got away with it.

They were finally convicted and jailed recently though, that's the good thing.

If I was a professional forensic handwriting analyst, I would spot the first person that curves the lower "t" like that.
It was written by a male btw. And most likely a cigarette smoker as well.
