If Gane takes apart Frank--and I believe he will--Jones' UFC career will be officially over imo. Before you start saying 'I knew he wasn't coming back anyway', yeah, I know, I was probably saying that before you, but there was still that 0.5% chance that he might surprise everyone and make good on his word to fight Francis for the belt. At least with Ngannou, he has a narrow path to victory--run around the cage for a few rounds and hope Francis gasses enough to use some grappling without too much risk. But with Cyril, he has no chance of victory. None. Zero. Gane is proven at heavyweight and matches Jones strength for strength and does it all much better. Even if Jones tried some Hail Mary take downs, he would almost certainly get shrugged off and lit up. There's no way Jon wins that fight, he knows it and it will be the nail in the coffin for his HW "dreams". I predict that shortly after Gane's victory, if that is what happens, he will announce his retirement. After all, he never said he would fight Gane, just Ngannou, so with Francis out of the title picture, it would be a great time to slip out the back door with a least some of his pride still intact.

whatever you say hater.

Keep crying, or whatever the fuck this is

I don't think Jon Jones is finished regardless of the current state of the HW division. He can beat likely all of that respective roster if he wants. I fkin dislike Jon Jones, but that's my opinion.

Not officially until he makes an official statement, but most likely yeah

I think Jon sees Francis as a bigger threat than Gane. Once Francis slept Stipe, Jon started talking about he needed 20m or whatever.
Don't get me wrong, I think that fighting either one is about the last thing he would ever do, but while I can see a very slight chance for him against Ngannou, I can't picture any way he could win a Gane fight right now. Maybe he will shit the bed, who knows.

With all of his issues and bloating up to 280lbs or whatever I don't see him beating either one of them.

I agree, the talent pool is not as deep at HW, I feel (and have always felt) that Jones steamrolls the HW division, even past his peak.

I have a really strong feeling that Jones has taken his final USADA violation in silence and has no intention of ever fighting again. I have 0 facts to back this up, but he's been out for a long time and abandoned his belt without much resistance.

Gane is more than capable and talented enough to beat Jones. But Gane is also the safest fight for bones. Lacks the one punch death touch type of power. He hasn't faced a grappler at jones level or even a fighter that's well rounded like Jones. Also severely inexperienced and I dont recall seeing Gane face any real adversity at this point.

If anything, jones is hoping Gane pulls off the win.

Jones has less odds of beating Francis.

His dream scenario would be Francis KOs Gane so bad he gets KOd out of his prime and then Francis leaves ufc. Jones then jumps in and fights recently KOd Gane for the vacant title or even better: a Derrick Lewis type.
