Johnny Walker weighed 248 lbs. Potential HW contender?

I've said for a while now he should try HW. It's not like his chin will get worse. And when a HW hits you square you're usually going down bad chin or not. He'd be one of the fastest most explosive guys in the division by a fair margin, while still being taller than most of his foes.
 
HW sucks

Actually he should run through everyone outside the TOP 7/6

And even then he stands a pretty good shot of landing first

Jones/Gane will handle him though

If he had better defense I could agree.

Not getting hit by bigger men>
getting clipped by faster LHWs.

But I don't think that will be the case.

I think he would just wind up getting sparked by bigger harder hitting dudes.
 
He beat the guy that submitted Tom Aspinall.

When the fighters are slower, shoddy defense isn't exploited as easy is more my thought process. End of the day if he gets clipped he goes down 205 or not. So why not fight in the division where they're not going to catch up to you as easy. Overeem had the same issues at 205, and moved up to HW with great success after hard cutting in his early years. His chin still wasn't fantastic at HW, but he had far more success there than he did at 205.

Solid example.

Overeem was a highly devoted fighter though. 70-80ish fights between MMA and kickboxing and reached the pinnacle of K1, Dream, Strikeforce, euro ADCC

Is Johnny Walker cut from that cloth?

Well he at least dialed back the hot dogging in the cage. So more so than he used to be.
 
If he wasn’t so chinny I think most people would view him as a serious contender vs an action fighter
 
Hw would probably be a pretty solid move..

If he gets hit he's done.. it's that simple.. he'd be a big, athletic as fuck hw.. i think he has a better chance of avoiding hw's with power than lwh's with power..
 
He'd have speed but his chin and defense are so bad I don't think it will work in his favor.
