I mean maybe if Masvidal was transported in his prime a few years ago back when GSP started his reign. MMA has new techniques that weren't there back then. I think you'd be shocked at how many modern fighters would beat the older generation if they had a time machine. I was always of the mind that Askren would have gotten wrecked by Koscheck, Hendricks, Ellenberger, and plenty of other UFC competitors, during his time in Bellator. He was always noted for his wrestling talent, but he wouldn't have matched up well with their physicality.

That said, the Askren who fought Masvidal was 6 years removed from his final match as Bellator champion. Building up some mythical aura around Jorge as though he did this to 2012 Askren is pretty laughable. Rogan just loves to fellate everything current.
