Ive finally been concvinced to get a tattoo. I want to get 1 jiu jitsu related tattoo once i am promoted to my next belt. Does anyone have any ideas, or input. Somethin nothing crazy. I want this to be my one and only tattoo

Best of luck to anyone that wants a bjj tat but the execution almost never seems as good as the idea, IMO. I've actually seen some cool ones but they were a little more subdued. I've seen some over the top ones that sounded big and awesome and ended up looking awful.

I guess that's true with all body art. There are some cool designs in this thread.

A lot of people have said that being awarded the purple belt is a sign of having "made it", as in you're no longer a tyro but are considered to be pretty much likely to be in it for life. So for me, purple belt is when I'll get Jits ink.

I would get a 50/50 guard tattoo, except replace the guys with girls ... and then lose the kimo... uhh, guess I will just keep this one to myself.

Yeah sometimes simpler is better. I'll most likely just end up getting the Japanese characters for Jiu Jitsu tattooed behind my ear or something in the end, as liike you have said somehow a lot of the epic ideas don't turn out so majestic in actuality...

I have a Judo symbol with Octopus tentacles coming from behind to symbolize the two most important martial arts in my life. I have a picture posted somewhere on here...

the point is, don't get something unless it has a lot of personal meaning to you. You don't want to look at something in the mirror every morning and think it's dumb.

Also, tats are addictive. Once you have one, you'll probably want more.
