Jessica Andrade's Downfall Is Somewhat Baffling To Me

A year ago I definitely would not favor MacKenzie Dern to beat Andrade, but she just seems to be finding ways to lose in every fight she's in recently. Like she's regressed and has forgotten everything she's learned throughout the years. She just goes out there, fights like a dumbass, and gets her ass kicked.

She doesn't care about winning. She's fighting for the paycheck. I was also baffled earlier this year, and she finally admitted that she was fighting to pay for her divorce.

She took on tough fights without a break. She hardly cares if she loses. Maybe she has different feelings now that the divorce is over, but who knows.

Lemos became higher in the straw weight rankings by winning 2 fights and Andrade leaving the division for flyweight.

Probably because Lemos was actually participating in the division instead of fucking around at 125

I actually think it’s 70% circumstantial and 30% focus and/or mileage or decline.

The best version of Andrade probably doesn’t beat Suarez or Blanchfield regardless. Then when you add in fight frequency, poor match-ups across divisions, and her motivation, I think most of her performance is explained.

If she can stay on her feet, she should beat Dern—unless her chin really is shot.

She has been fighting "weird" lately, probably starting from the Murphy fight, where yeah she put a beating on her like she owed her money, but at the same time you could see the way she threw punches was off, more like a slap, hitting with fingers/palm and not with her knuckles, not the "front" of the fist, i thought, ok, she doesnt want to end her life, but she has been doing it and fighting "dumb" more after that one, i think she needs to switch camps and get her style polished again, or turned back to what it was, her KO of Karolika K. was AWESOME at the time, her slam and beating she put on Rose was awesome, turn back the clock to that, she is 32 and the competition its not all that stiff if she fights right imo.

PS: She needs to take a break from MMA for a while win or lose, its 5 fights in 2023...

When she just went after if and threw caution to the wind she was a better fighter
I don’t see her turning this around
