Good stuff from Caplan and Floyd about Bellator so if you are interested in Bellator you should listen.

Talks about Eddie and King Mo's contract, why Bellator does post fight prelims that arent streamed, trying to sign Batista, British Bulldog's son etc.

Caplan tried to sign Batista, Harry Smith and some WWE guy Vlad Kozlov or something.

Thought Eddie's manager did a bad job letting him sign the UFC deal because they should have known it would have been matched by Bellator since Bellator had offered him more months before that. That Eddie should have told UFC I want to be here so lets do something they cant match.

King Mo had multiple deals that Kogan didnt like because he feared Zuffa would match the deal so they created a contract with poison pills Zuffa wouldnt match.

Said they do post fight prelims because shows start early and their model is locals selling tickets. Fighter would sell 100 tickets but since they start early their family/friends would show up late and miss the fight and be pissed and leave and that makes crowd look empty. SO they started to do post main event fights so these guys who sell tickets can have their families see them.

Doesnt like every fight streamed cause its too much mma out there. Save something for the fans who buy tickets.

Thinks this Bowman kid he signed for Bellator who is fighting in the next few weeks is gonna be the next Chandler.

Thought Bellator should have projected legal fees it would take to fight Eddie in court and just give him half that money on top of what they matched which would have been more than UFc offered and what Bellator agreed to match. Eddie would get more, be happy and would have been cool staying. Thats what he would have done if he was the one making the final decision.

Talked about matching rights on released fighters. Says UFC has that rights even on released fighters.

Tried to sign Reem when SF cut him, he reached out to his manager but manager said they cant talk because Zuffa has right to match. Bjorn didnt understand this because he was released and didnt believe they could do that Caplan said. When Bjorn found out that you can enforce the right to match on released fighters and UFC is doing it then Bellator is gonna also do it.

Caplan thought UFC being top dog can get away with things number 2 cant, it hurt Bellator alot in their recruitment of fighters, managers didnt want to send guys to Bellator.

Thinks Liam can be a star

Thought UFC/Bellator beef died a bit when Coker took over and doesnt understand going head to head with Tito/Bonnar against UFC big PPV. That they are poking the bear fucking with UFC's money maker which is their PPV.

Thinks Bellator can be a good number two and make money but will never overtake the UFC or be a big threat to them unless they can steal more Rampage's from UFC. If they can do that then they have a chance but they need the stars.

Some good stuff from them.

Interesting. Will listen when I get home

I understand the first part but the second part is just crap to me. There's no reason they can stream prelims but not "postlims". It's frustrating not getting to see a fight just due to scheduling issues.

I'm gonna say this for the 7Th lmao time on here, bellator is going to sell before 2016 and they made the worst mistake of their life and turned bellator mma into bellator fake wrestling/mask pulling off instead of the legit company they can be. They FUcKeD up

We are literally watching a potential 100 million dollar company lose it as we watch. Seriously. This is crazy epic shit and it's day by day crashing like a slow moving train wreck.

Agreed, and when they do sell or go belly up, I hope Sam and/or Rebney head up in a new competitor to the UFC in their place. You can tell Sam and Bjorn were the MMA brains in the room for Bellator. Now I'm not sure they have one.

sorry not trying to start debate anymore. good read.

Caplan being a proponent of "dark matches" for the second largest mma promotion in the world bothers me. This is 2014, come on. Lame excuse for post TV preliminaries.

Last week us fans missed out on a :11 and :37 second finishes. We don't get to see a guy fight who now has a promotional record of 6-1.

Sorry I can't fly to Connecticut to watch Mike Mucitelli fight. I hope Caplan's theory of "leaving the fans wanting more" works out for him in that new promotion he's with.

The Bellator tickets I've bought have been a great value.

Thanks for posting this gem CC27.

If your a hardcore Bellator fan this is a must listen, I've listened to both of them and there full behind the scene info

Thank you. Why would he even set up the fights if he thinks there "too much mma" out there?

It's out there, lets watch it.

Awesome podcast, these guys really give you an in depth look into Bellator. Jason Floyd is one of the best reporters in the business. No bias, just tells it like it is.
