They keep rebooting this franchise. I sort of hate it. It’s always almost the same stale story. At least wait till 20 years for a new reboot.
I'm curious how this is the same story as it's not an origin story like Superman 78 or MoS? Superman Returns was supposed to be a continuation of the Reeve story, so that wasn't the same story. I guess I can see the similarities between BvS and the beginning of this trailer. Hell, even the tv show Superman and Lois showed Superman as a dad to teens, something we've never seen.

Gunn's Superman movie is in it's own universe, not an origin story, working with characters we've never seen him work with on the big screen to include his dog Krypto. This is definitely not the "same stale story."

Superman is supposed to be calm and grounded. He’s the guy who stays composed even when the world is falling apart. If words from a reporter are enough to rattle him, he starts looking less like a symbol of strength and more like an insecure teenager who needs validation.

The whole point of Superman is that he doesn’t break. That trailer undermines what makes the character great. Hope it just looks worse because it's out of context but it's not a good sign.

David Corenswet looks terrible in the role, the suit looks terrible, and Rachel Brosnahan is the least attractive Lois Lane casting to date.

I disagree with everything in your post, but the highlighted part is such a preposterous thing to say I can’t make up my mind if you’re trolling or are completely lacking in good taste.

She’s objectively one of the hottest if not the hottest live action Lois Lanes. You can argue the placing of the top 3 between her, Erica Durance and Amy Adam’s; but she is definitively top 3!

My personal ranking of all the live-action Lois Lanes is this:
  1. Rachel Brosnahan
  2. Erica Durance
  3. Amy Adams
  4. Teri Hatcher
  5. Elizabeth Tulloch
  6. Kate Bosworth
  7. Margot Kidder
  8. Noel Neill
  9. Phyllis Coates

I'm not a fan of Superman as a character. I much prefer underpowered heroes, so to me Superman is, well, dull. But i love the hopeful, positive ideals that the character stands for, and i hope that comes through in this movie. We could use some of that in today's world.

Bingo. Overpowered boring character imo too.

I hate his costume, and that scene makes him look like a child. Even if she's grilling him, Superman wouldn't act that way. Along with him being angry where the water bottle is tossed at him, looks like he's got a chip on his shoulder.

The trailer is cray busy, so it's hard to get a handle on what's going on, but so far I don't like this portrayal of Superman. I like the Lois casting though.

I imagine the bald guy is supposed to Lex? He looks like a live adaption of some anime character.

Yeah. I hate this brooding Superman we've had to deal with for years now. I want the fun non-brooding, non-moody, Reeve-version of Superman back. The boyscout. Truth, justice, the American way.

Margot Kidder had a plain face and was a smoker, but holy hell did she have an amazing body. Based on her body in her prime, she may very well be #1.
<{jackyeah}>

I wasnt interested in this movie, or any Superman movie, but after reading all the negative comments in this thread I decided to watch the trailer outta curiosity
I dont know, it looks pretty dang good to me, big, wild, overblown action and chaotic, explosion filled excitement, what more could ya ask for in a Summer blockbuster
You might just catch ole Pete there on opening weekend, munching on some tasty popcorn and staring wide eyed at that beautiful silver screen

Plus, it has a dog in it ❤️ 🐶 ❤️
I was thinking you gotta watch it just for the dog

Same, and I am way, way, WAY more of a brooding anti-hero kind of guy(see avatar and Spawn being my fave all-time).

Supes is not that. He is always striving to be a great person. Rarely lets evil dictate his own behaviour and morals. All that jazz. I get not liking him, but that is who he is supposed to be, not a dour and angry individual.

- My first super-hero read was Death of the Super-Man. I used to watch Reeves movie with my grandpa. But that comic was so great. My only oproblem is that other medias adaptations did Maxima dirt. She was the other hero standing against Doosday, not Wonder-Woman.

- The 90's cartoon and 90's comic-book run. He was badass, but still the good guy he always was.

Seems to be all over the place. I'm optimistic but wary. Also, movies should stop people throwing things and screaming at someone who could destroy a city in seconds. It looks stupid.
Yeah, this... seems like they just threw a whole heap of different things in.

...fuck it, who am I kidding, I'll still watch it anyway.

Superman The Animated Series was great. He was perfect in that show.....except for the fact they nerf'd his powers. But his characterization was perfect.

I also thought the Clancy Brown version of Luthor was great on that show. And we’ve never really seen a live action iteration like it (I suppose John Shea on the Cain/hatcher show was the closest thing to it but not really). I don’t know why they don’t attempt that sort of characterization.

Hoult should be good though. Really solid actor with good range.
