He dominated all his opponents at LHW and HW and all his opponents landed 1 significant strike in total. I don't understand why he isn't getting any hype he should be getting Khamzat hype

He just doesn't have sound bites people can spam and hype. Also for HW he is kind of undersized.

He doesn't have a strong wrestling background and doesn't have crazy power. Have to remember some of the crazy stuff Khamzat did like move up a weight class and KO Meerschaert in 10 seconds. Those moments make a fighter's career explode, look at Masvidal after the knee KO.

People here are pretty hyped for Almeida, it's just going to take a higher ranked opponent and a little long for casuals to catch on.

Because he doesn’t have the undefeated mystique.

I don't think that KO made Khamzat popular agree about sound bites though

Hell of a fighter, definitely looking forward to watch him fight. I made a parlay with this fight being over 1.5 rounds. We'll see lol.

I suppose it wasnt on the level of Masvidal knee at all, but when the UFC plays highlights I'd say Khamzat has more crazy moments than Jailton, if you just took the best clips.

I think he's going to struggle with the top 5 or so. Rozenstruik I think is beatable, but past him he's going to have a hard time employing his "manhandle you" style to big guys with some skill. I just don't think he's big enough to do that to those guys. It's going to take so much energy to get them down and keep them down compared to who he's fought thus far.

That's because everyone at HW sucks outside of maybe 3 or 4 guys
Taking down a bunch of fat brawlers isnt gonna scream prodigy

He is strong as fuck and much more skilled than all of them bar Jon obviously and he fought some 257 lbs guy like and ragdolled him like nothing

I think people always get super excited about dominant grapplers at HW, but I don't think being a heavy grappler is quite as sustainable at HW as it is at the lower weight classes, tbh, due to the more dangerous entries and cardio / size.

No offence to Parker Porter but he is no where near as skilled as the best guys in the division.

I think he's better off at 205 honestly

The Roz fight should be interesting. Roz isn't known as a grappler but IIRC nobody really bullied him there (Overeem?). He has no flapping background to speak of but he is much larger than Jailton and a dangerous striker
