Hey there guys, I finally had a chance to use my Jaco cup system today. I was hoping to use it sooner and review it a while ago but I was in a car accident and had to rest up my back and neck.

Alright, enough bs, here is the review!

Jaco Guardian Compression Short and Athletic Cup (without Pads) - MMAWarehouse.com - MMA Gear, MMA Clothing, MMA Shorts, MMA Gloves, MMA Shirts and more!

I bought mine at mmawarehouse.com at the link provided. I also bought another set at njfightshop.com so that I would have two pairs so that I wouldn't have to take the cup out to wash it. I chose the 2day shipping from mmawarehouse and without fail, they arrived in two business days as promised. I am always impressed with mmawarehouse and I use them often.

anyway, here is the product info before I get into my review:

Designed specifically for MMA, the Guardian compression short and athletic cup system delivers unparalleled protection where it counts the most.
Heavy-duty impact Athletic Cup designed to minimize inadvertent strikes from kicks (even coming from the bottom)
Adjustable polypropylene straps provide a secure, comfortable fit
Comes in M (30-32"), L (33-35"), XL (36-39"), and 2XL (40-44")

mine came in a little box. I would take a picture of it but it looks just like the picture above.

So, upon putting the shorts on you will find they fit unlike any other sets of compression shorts combos like this. they feel more secure and the cup covers your junk completely, not just sit above like how the shockdoctor ones do. the cup is deep and not too narrow and all of my stuff fit inside.

After securing the straps, which are velcro, but not like velcro hook and loop like on gloves. The strap is typical velcro but the pad thing that it connects to is unlike any fabric that I'd felt before. It holds very well and moves with you rather than staying static. The straps hold the cup to your body and your nuts don't fall out or get smashed with the edge.

My range of motion was the best. Just like not wearing one at all. I could move my knees all the way to my chest and the cup didn't move much at all.

While in jiu jitsu class we were drilling omaplatas and the cup did not get in the way.

No complaints from my sparring partner at all.

All in all I give this unit a 10/10 out of all the cups and compression combos that i've used.

Didn't know they had a new version. Looks good, and there's no longer peeling logos so that's nice.

and there are no pads either nor are there pockets to put pads.

Awesome review, I'm in the market for a new cup and this one looks great.

Thanks.

i have 3 of them so that i have backup in case i don't get to wash my training gear immediately. i think they are great and use them for standup and grappling (when i wasn't injured).

it's a great idea, i have two sets for that reason. best 80 bucks i've ever spent.

anyone use a Thai steel cup with this? is it even possible? do i even need one, considering it comes with one? i do Muay Thai, btw.

Looks at least possible since the straps don't need to go through the cup itself.

I use mine for muay thai and it is more comfortable than a steel cup

More comfortable during regular use or more comfortable during and after a kick to the 'nads? Because I believe that's his main concern, lol.

More comfortable during regular use. getting kicked in the groin hurts no matter what youre wearing

How is the sizing? I want to buy it but I'm not sure which size to order. I wear 34 in jeans but I have strong legs. Should I go with L or XL?

I'm a medium with 30 waist and thicker legs, and even with my 20lb weight flux it's fit perfectly.

Is it just me, or does this thing take forever to put on? There are a crap ton of straps that hook through the cup, which attach to velcro on the shorts. It works well, but when I am rushing to get to the gym after work, I would rather use a jock/cup combo. Maybe its too good lol.
