88 Films have been releasing a number of Jackie Chan films over the last 18 months on Blu Ray (Crime Story, Battle Creek Brawl, Dragon Fist, Snake & Crane Arts Of Shaollin, To Kill With Intrigue) all on 2K scans, all well worth the money if any collectors are interested.

The Protector just turned up at work after pre-ordering it months back, I only watched it earlier this year before I found it was getting released, but already I can't wait to see it again.

It's Jackie Chan's second break into the US/Western market AFTER Big Brawl back in 1980 and this release has both versions of the movie, the English language US version & the Hong Kong cut (only 6 seconds longer but it is Jackie's own cut for the HK audience).

I loved this movie as a kid, mostly because it has some lovely lovey Asian girls with their fanny's out, I mean, do I need to say more?

Movie is directed by James Glickenhaus, master of great bad movies like The Executioner, The Soldier, Blue Jean Cop & the hilarious Scott Glenn movie Slaughter Of The Innocents, about a 12 year old kid with a super computer that is way more intelligent than anyone in the FBI, including his dad, who travels the US hunting down a serial killer (it's as good as it sounds)

Co staring Danny Aiello (possibly the oddest buddy cop pairing in movie history)

I personally don't like it, especially when there is already a ton of amazing alternatives, including the original

If you haven't seen it go watch it, shit's awesome

it's got tits, big guns, bums, lots of action, fannys, Danny Aiello not type cast, more fanny, and fucking Bill Wallace

And here is my version of the original artwork, soon to be in the thread I can't be arsed to create, 80's Movie Posters Recreated in MS Paint (with varying degrees of effort and accuracy)

edit, Bill Wallace isn't actually fucking in it, he just is fucking Bill Wallace

Came here for the awesome Paint shoop..............wasn't disappointed.

{<redford}

I remember watching this movie but can't remember anything about it I need to check it out again. Meals on Wheels is one of my favorite Jackie Chan movies.

I'm honored, but as far as 80's movies the correct answer is always Big Trouble in Little China IMO.

both this and the Tony Jaa movie of the same title (not related) are ultra badass

Might actually be my favorite 80s TMA flick (non JCVD i'm talking here) along w/ Sho Kosugi's Revenge of the Ninja

WTF, how have I heard of the Big Brawl and Rumble In the Bronx but not this?

And now the search for a (legit?) stream begins...

got to admit, thats one of my favourites .

I like Jackie Chan in this movie.

I love The Protector but as someone who grew up watching Jackie Chan films where he was the lovable goofball, only fought in self defence and was constantly on the retreat, it is so strange to see him just gun that guy down in the stairwell.

It's actually pretty low key back in the day, it wasn't a huge hit at all, but it's well worth a visit if you can find it

Still not seen the Tony Jaa version, is it good?

I know, but you got the Paint skills bro to pull it off. The Dvd cover isn't as detailed.

It's an absurd plot and story, but the last 20 or so minutes is a Raid Redemption level action set piece with perhaps the best long take I've ever seen in an action flick

Yeah they really skipped the humour and goofing around in this one, I think this was intended to be his Dirty Harryesque movie

It was back to basics after this one
