So no one seems to be discussing this fight. This is a really, really solid fight. A great fight. Jack Shore is as good of a prospect in any weight division right now, in my opinion, incomparably better than someone like O'Malley.
Jack Shore is 16-0 (5-0 UFC) and 12-0 amatuer. Ricky Simon is 19-3 (7-2 UFC). I personally think Shore is a better fighter, but it's the same thing with Valiev fight, which I also loved very much and it really delivered in a way, that it may go down to the wire, and when it's close, with the judges nowadays, it can be hard to tell if a guy who should win is going to win. If Shore didn't drop Valiev for example in the third, who knows how that fight would've gone? And Shore isn't necessarily a puncher.
I think Shore is clearly better than Simon on the feet, longer and with longer reach, and he has a great MMA wrestling and TDD as well. Simon's TDs are more wrestler-like, but Shore's is more like GSP, timing based takedowns. Overall, I think Shore is a better fighter than Simon, who's no joke in his own right, but if Simon does manage to take him down, which won't be easy, I do think Simon's top control is probably better than Valiev and probably punchers harder, but not as polished.
Who you got? Shore or Simon?
