It's 2008. How does Lesnar deal with Tim Sylvia or Big Nog

I thought of this listening to Jaxxon with Tim. He said he gambled his contract to fight Brock but ended up leaving after the Minotaro fight

Nog could've fought Lesnar in that HW tournament when Lesnar was busy with Couture and Mir 2. Minotaro got KOed by Frank before the Lesnar fight could materialize

I always wonder

If Brock decided to wrestle, he could surely win. I do believe Tim would piece him up on the feet though. Especially if it was a svelt Tim on the gear. He was dangerous.

Lesnar was strong and dynamic. He was pretty fast for his size. I see him take down big nog with ease. Would he avoid the sub ? Debatable though. Dont give a flying fuck about tim sylvia on the contrary

He would have dealt like all fighters in fixed fights

Honestly Nog showed he could beat Mir . The first fight started all those memes about Nog being an excuse machine out of the hospital. It was so weird to see. Every once in a while Mir would strike with people and his hands were glued to Antonio's chin. The second time Nog rocked him and gave him a kimura

But if we were to humor our imagination and speculate timeliness. I think either could beat Lesnar. Finish him too

This hypothetical of Lesnar-Nog is interesting.

Do you reckon Nog could tap Lesnar? I'm not totally convinced. I'd favour guys like Mir and Fedor to tap Brock (obviously Mir actually did) - less sure about Nog, who is more likely to apply a chokehold/throw something up from the bottom.

I think to tap Lesnar you'd really need a brute force/deadweight-type submission effort - a limb, something you can threaten to snap.

I'm not at all convinced Nog would choke him out, and I'm not convinced he completes any kind of armbar/kimura in the same manner as a Mir or Fedor, either.

Beyond that, Nog's best chance is a Decision - but only Heath Herring went the distance with Lesnar, and he lost badly.

I think it would have been a great fight, but honestly? Lesnar might have won that.

Just some rambling ass thoughts on the matter. I just don't think there are many smaller/finesse heavyweights that would have beaten Brock. You either hit him hard as fuck, shut down his wrestling game, or you threaten to break his limbs. I don't think there are many other options.

I would agree but why wouldnt he wrestle,? Thats his whole game.

If Tim could stop or deter the TD, he’d be forced into standing. Kinda like what happened with Reem. He KO’d Randy standing, too. Brock would certainly test the waters standing, it’s just a question to what degree.

Honestly he probably donkey Kong smashes the shit out of them.

Nog is dumb enough to play guard and take a beating, would he look for subs? Sure. And he would find knuckle sandwiches, all you can eat.

Hard to submit someone while getting ragdolled positionally.
I don't see him getting lucky like Mir, people like to ignore that only happening with a ridiculous mazzagatti intervention.

I would put Mir aside. Mir was game but he was not consistent enough if that makes any sense. I d love to see if a gritty and technical guy like big nog could submit prime lesnar in the latter rounds or if he was already to slow to do it...which is possible.

Nog does a little better then Mir just bc he can take more punishment and works better on his back but can’t see him winning , Tim would get run over quite easily, he’s overly tall and not really explosive he’s stagnant guy it would be very easy fir Brock to shoot under him .

You have to really be more physical and well balanced to defeat a well prepared Lesnar , if you don’t have the strength to even stop him to readjust and counter maneuver either with grappling or punching then you’re in trouble , Couture was able to slow him down but ultimately strength and weight played out to much in that one . I think after that is when that health issues surfaced ?

At that time he beats both.

08 Brock vs 05 or 06 Nog. Nog wins

In my opinion, a factor in this thread that's extremely important is which MMA fights are organized.

If the UFC says that Tim Sylvia will be against Lesnar, I know for a fact that Tim Sylvia will be in shape. Furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if Tim is in the best shape of his entire life (an iteration of Tim Sylvia that's in even better shape than when Tim was against Fyodor Emelianenko).

Tim Sylvia always said that Lesnar absolutely despises when anyone punches him. Also, Tim was saying these things before Lesnar started losing MMA fights.

I think Brock beats both in 2008, Big Nog wasn't in his prime, same with Timmeh mentally but both in their primes, they'd win.

As far as Brock, Idk if Brock really had a prime in MMA since his MMA years were so short to judge about Prime Brock vs Prime both of these 2.
