It would be a crying shame if Rashad Evans doesn’t get inducted into the HOF with Bisping

I'm in for Rashad. He's one of the OG' who helped the sport develop & was leading the game during that critical time. He should be recognized for that. If not this year then eventually... but it has to happen. Even to this day he's still working in the gym & helping the next gen get better. That's the kind of OG we want in the hall of fame.

Great point Rashad channeled his inner Yoda by mentoring Usman

Neither Rashad nor Bisping should be in the HoF if it ever going to be truly prestigious. Both were very good fighters with very good careers.

I think Rashad should be in over Bisping; more wins over good opponents. Bisping's overperformance against Rockhold was really his main career highlight (and it could be said that Rockhold was too confident there). Against Silva, he was almost KTFO - good win, but not a good look. Against Henderson 2 he was hurt badly and arguably could have lost that fight. And he was finished by bloated, retired WW GSP. Pretty overrated fighter imo.

Unquestionably Rashad Evans belongs in the UFC Hall of Fame

Look at what he has accomplished:

- Won the 2nd season of The Ultimate Fighter as an undersized heavyweight
- UFC Light Heavyweight Champion
- Was ranked consistently inside the top 10 of the division for well over 5 years

Has wins over:

- Chuck Liddell
- Tito Ortiz
- Dan Henderson
- Rampage Jackson
- Michael Bisping
- Forrest Griffin
- Phil Davis
- Chael Sonnen

- Was a part of the first ever Ultimate fighter winner vs Ultimate fighter winner fight against Michael Bisping

- Was a part of one of the most successful seasons of the Ultimate fighter against Rampage Jackson

- Was a part of the first ever non-title UFC ppv headliner to surpass 1 million ppv buys at UFC 114 against Rampage Jackson (who also belongs in the HOF)

Rashad Evans has given a lot to the UFC from contestant on the ultimate fighter to being champion to coaching to headlining big fights.

Looking at the current HoF 100% he has a place in there.

With serra being inducted, rashad and bisping should be a given.

This is actually a good point. Rashad had better peak value, while Bisping stuck around, to use baseball terminology.

If you asked me at the time of Bisping's retirement who had the better career, I would have instantly said Rashad. If you play their careers in reverse, then it's definitely Rashad.

Bisping is an economic inductee. He opened the UK market and continues to serve as an ambassador (e.g. revenue generator) overseas for the UFC.

I mean, a for-profit company generating its own Hall of Fame is kind of transparently self-serving, eh?

Chuck was damaged goods by the time Rashad got to him. Rampage should be in the HOF for figuring out Chuck first.

I agree, but the prestigious ship sailed when they inducted Charles "Mask" Lewis for dying in a car accident.

And for global MMA fans, the UFC-only HOF has always been a joke.

UFC-only is easier to fix in the long run. It does more damage to let very good people in when the bar should be greats only. It's easier to induct folks who always should have been there than to expel folks who never should have been there.

Dana uses it more like his Hall of gratitude or something. It will never be great while he is so personally involved in the decision making. He's to close to be objective.

No sir; his record speaks for itself.

He was 14-1-1 (UFC) until meeting Jones at that was a UD loss. Jones was probably stacked on PEDs at the time.

After his loss to Jones you could say his career went for a dive, but not before beating Sonnen and Henderson.

Rashad was a monster at his best and winning TUF at HW when he legit fought at MW at one point is ridiculous.

If Bisping made into the HOF then Rashad definitely should be inducted too. He had a good run, and sold more PPVs than Bisping.

Is there any criteria at all

As near as I can tell the only “criteria” is you have to be “retired” a year.

It’s a retroactive employee of the month club and has zero legitimacy in my eyes.

Check out the MINIMUM criteria for being inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF. It’s absolutely staggering in it’s opposite nature. Different situations but no less true.

They didn’t induct the first people into the Rock and Roll HOF until 1986. Think about that for a second. The UFC hasn’t existed even now for as long as the time span between the first Rock and Roll song (1951) which of course came about from music (R&B, Blues) decades older, until the first inductees ( That’s 35 years). The first criteria for the R&R HOF... 25 years must have passed since you recorded the song you’re being inducted for. That’s the FIRST hurdle.

So, I’m sorry but I don’t think HOFs should be treated like employee of the month clubs.
