Israel Adesanya vs. Paulo Costa.

I'd like Izzy to win, but I think Costa is a bad match-up for him.

50/50 fight imo.
 
Izzy is gonna go on a Silva esque run in the UFC. Yall going to be surprised at how easy he'll make it look yet again.

I thought Costa was going to be a problem, then I rewatched his fights. Izzy is gonna have a field day after round 1.

Exact opposite for me.

I'd like Izzy to lose, but he's too quick and too technical to get hit much by Costa. Izzy picks him apart in a fight that grows increasingly more one-sided as it goes on.
 
Adesanya will clown Costa who will gas out after missing 90% of his shots.

An athletic wrestler will eventually come along and dethrone him just like Anderson as well. Weidman (when he had a chin) was a really bad matchup for the fluid striker archetype. We'll get a Weidman 2.0 sooner or later.

Costa has the best chance out of all the MWs due to his style, and his power. Kelvin was able to get inside on Izzy, and land a lot of shots. If Costa lands half the shots Kelvin does, Izzy's probably sleeping.

55/45 in Izzy's favor due to technical striking, and head movement.

Silva relied to much on his chin later on, I dont think he'd have got caught if he actually fought smarter, and I dont think Izzy will fall for the trap. I hate to say it but wrestling is not what won the fight for Weidman, it was more of Silva throwing it away. Silva also has worse TDD compared to Izzy imo because is bottom game is great.

I'd like Izzy to make a draw against Costa but I think Costa will win three rounds and Izzy will two rounds with one of them being a 10-8 round for a 47-47 score.

Silva was also 38 when he fought Weidman, but If he didn't clown around so much the first time, I honestly think Silva would have won that fight.
 
Costa showed his grit against Romero. I thought he lost, but he went the distance either way which says something. He's definitely not as overrated as I thought he was before the Romero fight.

That said, styles make fights. Adesanya clowns Costa and makes it look easy. I think Yoel is a much tougher test than Costa for Israel. Volume strikers won't have much success against a guy like Adesanya.
 
Izzy late stoppage I think if I gotta choose. I think Costa will have some success early with pressure and he may even TKO Izzy. But i think Izzy knows his style and with his movement and counter game can get through it. I think Costa will have some cardio issues later and Izzy will outlast him in that area and catch him late.

I hope Costa wins though.
