"Sex toys that are connected to an app are becoming increasingly common, and can collect highly personal information about their users, reports Wired.
Information such as which sex toys a particular user likes, how often they are used and with what settings can be collected by manufacturers, and then sold to so-called data brokers.
“Data brokers can then package and match the data with that they have collected previously and sell it on,” says Paul Bischoff, an expert on digital security, to the newspaper.
He believes that an email or IP address from a sex toy may be enough for the data brokers to be able to connect it to a physical person in many cases."
