I was thinking this after watching Countdown where he has like his own gym now and is training at 3am and talked about getting away from all the "yes men" ect.

An example of this might be when Eddie was telling him to throw sand or do Imanari rolls during his devastating loss to Justin Gaethje. Also when he nearly got his arm broken by Beneil Dariush - does he blame Eddie for that?

eddie didnt tell him to throw sand it was one of his striking coaches.. and tony changed team after the Gaethje fight

Chandler is going to snap his neck this Saturday.

I thought he left because they weren't doing all the Sweet and Sour Sniffle theatrics...

And Ferguson hits iminari rolls all the time. It was a Hail Mary in round 5 but what else are you going to tell him

He can't blame Eddie for his stand up, Eddie is a BJJ coach. His stand up just isn't that great technically and he's slowed down and can't handle as much damage as he used to so that's the real reason for his striking discrepancies recently in his recent fights. He used to walk through punches/kicks and win with volume and pressure. It seems like he can't physically fight in that style anymore.

Everything he's working on with his striking trying to be more technical and counter strike is just something he just started working on post Gaethje fight. So of course it's not muscle memory for him yet. He just needs to keep drilling and training the techniques, seems like he blamed them instead of workiing/training more on the holes in his game. He made a statement about them not telling him to throw a jab and go for the knockout and he didn't understand that coaching. Tony doesn't have a great jab and was getting countered hard by Gaethje's power shots everytime he tried to enter on a jab, any proficient trainer/coach would see that and also tell him to stop throwing the jab if the fighter keeps exploiting your jab.

It just really seems like Tony is playing the blame game right now while looking through his whole career, that's why he's even blaming UFC for him fighting at 155 instead of 170. He's looking for a lot of excuses right now. He just needs to properly assess the holes in his game and fix them. That's it really. He had legit coaches he just physically can't do what they are asking him to do because he just started working with them and he just wasn't technically proficient enough yet to outsrike someone like Gaethje or outgrapple someone like Olivera. Doesn't matter who his coaches are.

The problem with Tony was that stupid weight cut for NOTHING. That's what did him in.

Couple with the fact that you train for 9 months for the world's best ground game specialist...only to have your opponent switched a complete 180 to one of the most dangerous/powerful strikers. Complete opposite. So the dumb weight cut, change of oppoenent, getting up in age...the only thing I blame his corner for is for not telling Tony to immediatly level change once they realized he couldn't box with Gaethje. He refused to shoot for any TDs. I don't think he even tried one the whole fight. That fight broke his will.

I can't remember where I read it but I think he broke away w/ Eddie be/c of whole vaccination thing. I think Tony wanted his team to be vax'd around him (and obv they had to be vax'd to fly/travel etc.)...and Bravo wasn't going to do that so he switched up coaches.

On a side note, that's a really good photoshop in the OP.

Don't know if it's yours TS, but nice work.
