So I bought this cart on eBay and it looks suspicious to me. I have a legit cart on the right for comparison. The suspicious cart is on the left.

2 differences that stand out:

1. The Nintendo imprint on the plastic is less prominent on the suspicious cart. It looks like the logo is not imprinted on the plastic as deeply or cleanly. It could be that the suspicious cart was handled more which made the imprint look less clean over time due to wear.

2. On the front, the Nintendo seals look to be different colors. The suspicious cart on the left has a darker, almost bronze tone to it compared to the legit cart on the right.

That's what I notice right off the bat. I hate eBay for openly allowing companies to sell fakes online.

Active ebay listing selling fake reproduction carts (note- I didn't purchase my cart from this seller but I'm still suspicious):

They should have to clearly identify reproduction carts with a "REPRO" branding to prevent this. It ought to be illegal but I guess there are more pressing matters in the world today. It's still a bunch of BS

What do y'all think? Fake or real

Wrong sub forum. Please move to video games

I’m not familiar with DS carts, but I feel ya OP. I thought I got a good deal on Turtles in Time, turned out to be a fake. At least eBay refunded me, but I was bummed out.

Then I bought the turtles collection for the Switch from Amazon. Put the card in and it was some other game. Somebody bought the game, switched labels, then sent it back. Lucky me. Again, got my money back at least.

Read the seller's reviews.
I know Amazon has product reviews. Not sure about ebay though.
