BJJ Is there something still worth learning from luta Livre or has bjj absorbed a lot of it?

I know it's hard to learn outside of brazil but maybe some techniques from it I should steal?

Several years ago, I discovered a Ken Shamrock seminar that showed a heel-hook when they re-guard from under side control (bridge, hip escape, insert the knee) and have been leg-locking the shit out of people ever since. However, people started doing it back to me and I couldn't figure out the solution, so then I stopped re-guarding and would belly down or do a running man instead.

Awhile ago I saw a LL clip of re-guarding and they instructed you to insert the TOP knee, instead of the bottom, because the bottom could get you heel-hooked.

So simple, but I never encountered that attack OR that solution in my decades of BJJ. (However, I have not kept up with the leglock revolution, so maybe the info is now out there in BJJ circles.)
