Is there anyone out there who does what Jack Slack does for striking or what BJJ Scout does for Jiu Jitsu for Judo?

Judo's a combat sport with a criminally small amount of good material out there on it (in comparison to the vast amount of quality analysis out there on striking, wrestling or BJJ), so someone writing articles on Judo in a similar vein to Jack Slack's would be awesome.

Does anyone know if this person exists?

BJJ Scout once made a very informative video on Ronda Rousey's application of judo to mma, which can be viewed here:

However, in regards to your question, no, I am not aware of any technical analysts who specialize in judo.

You could always watch some judo matches with no sound, eyes, and a notepad yourself though ;)

Here is another article on Fundamentals by BJJ Scout which you absolutely must read: http://bjjscout.com/2013/07/07/rodolfo-vieira-takedown-study-part-1-a-study-of-planes/

Rodolfo is one of the very few BJJ players with a good understanding of judo. He doesn't just try to get lucky with throws: he has a plan. His footwork and throw selection shows a good grounding in the fundamentals of human balance and the principles of judo [...]

[...] seeing "planes" is important in order to understand Judo [...]

[...] you get thrown when your center of gravity is pulled over your feet.

It isn't what you're looking for but beyondgrappling is a good youtube channel where they break stuff down nicely and show variations on throws. They have a great video which has 10 variations on ippon seionage.

The guy in the videos is a 2008 Olympian and knows his stuff.

Beyond Grappling and The Difficult Way

the difficult way is awesome. you gotta admire his humility in stopping at what he knew, although I find myself wondering if he's come up with new material in the last year or two...

Beyond grappling is a great resourse for judo and you can connect with matt d'aquaino on facebook and he'll break down stuff for you/put up instructional videos/answer specific questions. Really good guy and very technical

and beyond grappling, apparently he breaks down fights on his university of judo page http://www.universityofjudo.com/ but it seems membership is closed and there is very limited info about it.
