Is Strickland Afraid of Khamzat

Tbf, Khamzat is kinda terrifying. He and poatan both have that "obviously a fighter/psycho" look to them. Even in a sport full of bad motherfuckers, there's a few that stand out head and shoulders above that.
It's nothing new, used to be guys like Wanderlei and Cro Cop.

Then you gotta consider, Sean's whole game is centered around establishing a rhythm which Khamzat would utterly refuse to concede to him.

Terrible matchup for Strickland
There wouldn't be a rhythm to concede to. Sean wouldn't be able to get a Rhythm going before Khamzat started shooting on him.

That's what I'm pretty sure would happen as well. Unless you're an elite grappler yourself (Burns and Usman) you're essentially gonna be forced to focus on surviving immediately. Sean has nothing lethal enough to stop Chimaev from running right through him

Perhaps, but something is weird about Strickland always wanting to beat up these bums in the gym but then when somebody who can actually give him a challenge calls him out. He stays pretty quiet.

I could be reading too much into it though? Who knows. I mean I like the guy, just wish his fights were a little more exciting though.
Strickland is a gym bully, acts all nice and respectful when it’s a bigger guy who has some skills. But goes all out when it’s a smaller and/or unskilled guy

Strickland is only afraid of other fighters once they're actually in the cage.

That seems to be the gist of it.

Because he'd get embarrassed
Objectively, I agree with you. And that's coming from me being a Strickland fan. But like I was saying, I'm more of a fan of the entertainment he brings in press conferences and interviews than actual fighting. lol

I think Khamzat has that aura that even pro fighters are scared of him.

These are pro fighters, not casuals on the couch playing armchair coach and know it all while never training or fighting professionally a day in their life. Nobody is scared of another if career is professional fighting, that's ignorance and comical to say or think so. But knowing what a loss may do to career if losing to certain fighters, is a huge reality. Strickland can talk all he needs to, but he's openly stated that he got Dominated by Khamzat in the training room. He's also avoided a boxing sparring session with Jake Paul. Is he scared of him? Highly doubt it, but if he were to lose that sparring session to Paul, casuals and media, will never let that go.. and it's obvious the Paul kid has much better Boxing then Strickland. Only people who think fear of another Man is reality, are those who never made that walk before. Even the worry of outcome is nerves, not fear. A Fighter, a Martial Artist wants to test himself against those who can possibly beat them..
