The top-half has been used as a primary GnP position for quite some time, since the Couture days.

No, Khabib has his legs around both of Barboza’s. Barboza doesn’t have one of Khabib’s legs in his control.
It’s like a super low mount.
Crazy it's unique in mma I guess. Not that unique in grappling worldIt really depends on where he is on the legs to determine what you would call it.
If he is in front of the knees, butterfly guard technically. If he is past the knees (usually is) - half mount.
Frankly speaking though - it's a very unique position that he has really made effective. So I think we can call it the "Khabib Lace"
