Is it even possible now for the UFC to put together a Blockbuster card which appeals to Casuals ?

Look, we all enjoy watching the current champions, because we are hardcore fans and understand the skills of the top fighters.

But let's face it, there was no blockbuster end of year card like there has been in years past.

There are no mega draws which crossover to casual fans, like Rhonda Rousey, Conor, Brock Lesnar, GSP etc

Then there were plenty of popular secondary names.

It's like boxing where Bivol and Bieterov are two of the best of their craft, but they do not garner anywhere near the attention of a Jake Paul freakshow fight.

The UFC is full of champions with the skills and unfortunately the universal appeal of Bivol and Bieterov

Anyway back to topic

What is the best possible 5 fight main event card that the UFC could put together today which would get mainstream attention ?

Now that they’ve secured the paramount deal they don’t need to put on great cards that encourage PPV buys

The product has become a lot more sanitised in recent times, and that’s only going to become more apparent now

Last night for example, censored walk out music, the Moreno “stoppage” fighters don’t get finished anymore unless it’s a quick standing KO where the ref can’t jump in to prevent the bad visuals

Censored walk out music is nuts. This sport is always trying to be a sport even though regular sports fans think its stupid.

Walk out music has always been censored

The UFC has made it very clear that they want the brand to be the draw and fighters to not command enough power to demand better treatment.

The UFC can't put on a blockbuster card and they don't want to.

As long as the Nelk Boyz and other influencer teams are around, so will the UFC. God bless those guys for keeping MMA relevant.

Honestly, if they advertise during the 12 Power Slap events planned for 2026, UFC is likely to pass up Soccer and money as the most popular thing on Earth, even without any stars coming up.

It's tough. There is very little star power, the top guys rarely fight, and it's becoming more wrestling heavy, which makes for less than exciting fights. Last night was actually the 1st ppv cards that I voluntarily skipped in many years. Just wasn't all that interested.

only if they put jacked and cut guys that look like they can be bench warmers in the nfl or nba

you kinda fucked up. there were some really good bangers on this card. 9 out of the 13 fights were stoppage endings, 6 of those first round stoppages. Two of the undercard fights were just bleed bangers and the main event was a fantastic fight.

You watch UFC for "star power"? weird, bro.

last nights card was actually pretty good

Off the top off my head, Topuria and Van in main and co main.

Then some exciting just bleed guys rounding out the main card.
