Is Holloway really taller than Mark Hunt?

He has the opposite reach.

It's hard to say. Hunt is listed as 178cm tall but he never really looks short next to other heavyweights, at least not as short as his listed height would imply. Either other HWs are exaggerating their height or Hunt is downplaying his.

Yes he is. Struve also.

Probably 135ers out there as tall as hunt. At 5'10" he should be fighting at 170, dude is just so damn stocky. Wouldn't mind seeing a 230 pound hunt, get some pep in that step

I think his legs alone weigh 170.

so according to sherbro logic Max is bigger than Hunt and should fight at HW instead of cheating by cutting all that weight?

ITT guys who are 6'0 160 lbs and never been in a fight think they can take DJ.

Thats why we should have height classes. Humt would be 10 year champ.

There is a wide range of height at every weight class. There is no such thing as an ideal height for a class. Hunt is a HW and if he dropped to 230 lbs what would that do? It would make him less able to maximize his natural strengths.

Cormier would probably fight around 240 and dominate him.

Also the sport of MMA would suck. Just a bunch of slow fat guys of different heights laying on each other. One weight class of that is enough.

Yep. Holloway is tall for 145. And Black Beast looked like a super HW compared to Hunt Saturday.

Lose 40 pounds and tell me you don't feel better. Weight doesn't equal strength, he could lose weight and maintain this ko power and take down defense. His cardio would be better, speed, he could put live out retirement more comfortable not carrying around extra fat/mass

Sorry but you're wrong. Weight doesn't equal strength, although it is correlated, but that's not the issue. The weight creates more power in a moving object. And being heavier also makes it physically more difficult for people to move you. Both of those are science.

Personally, I don't think I'd feel better if I lost 40 lbs because I'm not a big guy. Mark Hunt might be healthier, I don't know. But that doesn't mean he'd be more effective against heavier fighters. He'd be less effective.

That would require a big change in lifestyle and diet, and there's no telling how that would effect him or if it would even work. People have different body types, Hunt is obvious Samoan and they tend to be on the bigger endomorph side of things. He's also 43, so it seems unlikely that he's going to drop that kind of weight if he couldn't do it in his 20s and 30s.
