I'm thinking about watching it but it's 2h 30m long, I don't wanna waste that much time on a movie that sucks. Just asking for sherbros' opinions.

Only the first 20 minutes.

The first 20 minutes is probably the best and most realistic plane crash scene ever filmed.

The trailer makes it look like after that there's some kind of tense courtroom drama/thriller, but that's BS. It's endless, boring scenes of Denzel Washington pretending to be a drunk. It's horribly, horribly boring except for some comedy from John Goodman.

It also pushes a bunch of AA propaganda. Promoting AA is the real agenda of the movie.

This ^. After watching the first 20 mins, i thought the rest of the film would be equally as good, i was wrong. Id still give it a 5/10 though.

The beginning is great and the rest is decent, if you're into perpetual fuck ups. It has hilarious moments though, John Goodman and Denzel and Don Cheadle all have good performances as well.

I enjoyed it, the beginning makes me not want to fly though

Funny, this was directed by Robert Zemeckis, who already has my favorite & most intense/realistic airplane crash scene of all time in Cast Away. He must be obsessed.

Flight doesn't sound like a great movie but I'll check it out at some point just because it's Zemeckis.

I really enjoyed it, thought it was great. It does cover the subject of alcoholism tho. To the posters who said this is AA propaganda? I am a member of AA and we do not seek outside enterprises for our benefit. AA really doesn't need propaganda it is a tried and true method of spirituality, common bonds and support that works and has worked without alteration for the last 70 plus years.

It was OK. The crash scene was exciting. I'm not a big Denzel fan.

It tries to be a dramedy. The problem with that is some of the comedy bits (anything to do w/ the John Goodman character) are so unbelieveable and out of place its jolting. You go from serious to slapstick to surreal way too quickly. Its a film that couldn't decide what it wanted to be. They should have just stayed with serious, it would have been so much better.

You will always get mixed reviews when asking about a movie. I personally thought it was a good movie but I like dramas and appreciate a good story.

If you're looking for action this movie doesn't have much

They fit all this on one coffee mug?

It wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but I'll watch anything with Denzel in it.

The chick he sleeps with is pretty amazing.

John Goodman makes that movie awesome. Watch the whole thing. Turn it off 5 minutes before the end.

It was great in my opinion.

Denzel Washington's character drinks SO much alcohol. He literally drank every brand of alcohol in the movie.

Owned.

I enjoyed the movie. Denzel was great in it. It was definitely one of his more complex roles.

The movie is very personal and is all about character. It has some comedic moments but that's not the focal point of the whole thing.
