guys got a lot of high quality videos, but i am not sure how good the info he is giving is. Anyone know his credentials or whether he is peddling bullshido.

also what are some good training channels?

Shane Fazen is legit. You can tell he knows what he's doing when he gives advice or demonstrates moves. If it looks real, it probably is.

Some of his videos have guests such as Chris Algieri or Ryan Garcia. Here's a sparring session between him and Chris:

He also had pro fights in Thailand:

As for other channels, my favorite one, aside from @Sinister's, is probably Coach Anthony. Anthony Rodriguez is Eddie Chambers' head trainer and Tevin Farmer's assistant trainer.

You need to be at least ranked top 5 in UFC, glory, boxing, or Bangkok fmt rules, to be legit on sherdog.

So nah. He aint legit.

<mma3>

Pretty legit in my book. Specially for beginners and intermediate level. And good quality videos, clean settings etc, that is always a plus.

They can be number one in boxing, they still wont be legit for me...

He boxed as an amateur on the east coast doing tournaments and had a professional full rules Muay Thai fight in Thailand.

I’ve trained with him at a few coaching clinics and his technique and sparring is as clean as his videos. Plus he’s a super nice and down to earth guy.

hes ok def not world class id put him at brown belt level in jiu jitsu terms since striking doesnt have rank outside of amateur and pro

but if you dont have a legit boxing coach then sure hes one of the best guys online t learn from since there isnt many high level guys online teaching boxing

find it funny how that works i happen t have 3 amazing boxing coaches who fought in 70s-2000s and it rain for free with them and only a few others and have had privates with them since i was a kid and yet u cant find guys teaching legit striking online besides the basic punches and basic defense

but then there are tons of jiu jitsu and wrestling kick boxing stuff

You do realize you dont have to be a good fighter to be a good coach?

(Actually mediocre fighters make good coaches in my experience)

a good channel to follow for MT is mine ;)

Shane Fazen is legit, as already mentioned he fought in thailand and boxed as an amatuer. FIght experience is there, even if he is not the champion of the world or what not. Also a thing to take into consideration, is how long the guy has been doing this for now. So he also has quite a bit of experience as a coach as well, which is something I think people should factor in when considering a coach. So all that being said he is legit, he does have some videos out there that might be fancy or whatever but the guy has done a video on literally every technique so if you search superman punch or jab his video is gonna pop up.

Shane is good but I feel like in recent years he's been spending more on tips rather than fighting. I feel like if you spend more time on fighting, sparring, competing, etc, you have more knowledge and experience to offer. At his level of knowledge, he seems to know a lot, he should spend more time with application of all his tips so it gives him more authentic credibility. You see when you're a beginner you need more knowledge and basics; Shane is for sure beyond that level now he has a wealth of knowledge, he just needs to spend more time applying all of it. One of the worst traps anyone could be in is knowing more than doing. But this is just my opinion so take it however you will.

I like Shane's videos. He has good guests etc. everything else has been menionted.

Like Shinchekin said, he has a channel, as do I.

My favourite channel is probably Stuart Thompson's Warrior Collective. Damian Trainor's Instagram is pretty good. And if traditional Muay Thai is your thing Sylvie Duuglas Von-Ittu has a WORLD of knowledge.

Look at emil martirossian if you want to see legit fight tips for the street

I do JKD and I used to watch lots of Emil's Urban Combat. He's pretty decent but he does the same hand drills a lot; meaning he is showcasing that the only way to seek that hand connection to trap is the typical pak da/lop da drill which is played to death. Would appreciate it if he showed more creative variety hand traps on how to get in. He also edits and speeds his videos a lot. Still one of my favorites though.

Seems reasonable. There is a English documentary that covers the art of boxing with Ricky Hatton and a bunch of world class fighters, that is far superior though.

Let’s also not pretend that *some* of Shane’s success comes from him being young, handsome and muscled up. Dude is a dime piece too

I think that's a lot of it. People just like the way he looks and sounds. His advice is reasonable but he can barely punch hard enough to break wind. It always amuses me when someone puts up a tutorial about punching power when they obviously can't hit.

That's true. But realistically not everyone is going to be able to become a competitive fighter. Some people are just more tailored for coaching, or making Youtube videos.

Shane is legit!

He is one of the coaches of his foundation where he trains and teachers others.

Shane Fazen is a striking coach who has dedicated his life to learning the ways of martial arts, for both competition and self defense, and sharing that knowledge on FIGHTTIPS (which he founded in 2003.)

Introduced to Taekwondo by his father at age 9, Shane earned his black belt under Grandmasters Ray Minger & Pung Young Lee. At age 15, he began training Muay Thai at Daddis MMA under Kru Rigel Balsamico’s Cool Hearts team. He competed in WKA tournaments and won a pro match in Thailand at 19 years old via 4th round KO. After injuring his foot in that fight, he focused his training on Western Boxing, competing in renowned tournaments like the Mid-Atlantic and Golden Gloves.

After attending Coach Kirian Fitzgibbons’s CSA Gym Coaches Clinic, Shane realized that his mission was not to be a fighter himself but to focus his energy on being an elite striking coach. His mission is to learn as much as possible by training with the best in the world, which so far included Bellator, UFC, and Lumpinee Champions.

Above all else, Shane stays dedicated to FIGHTTIPS because of the thousands of messages he receives from people explaining how martial arts has improved their lives.
