Is Dustin Poirer a bad matchup for Khabib and could he beat him to become the LW champion?

Would Dustin Poirer's ferocious stand up and take down defense give Khabib problems? I could see Dustin stopping Khabib's takedowns and giving him hell on the feet and possibly beating him. Poirer never really been beating because of wrestling.

Poirier hasn't fought a wrestler anywhere near the level of Khabib and his TDD is only 69%. Offensively he is a decent wrestler but he's not gonna try to take Khabib down.

The only thing Poirier has over Khabib is the stand-up, but Khabib has an iron chin and very good striking defense. Poirier literally only has a small puncher's chance, and that exists in rounds 1 and 2.
After that he gasses and gets played with for the rest of the fight.

Tony and Gaethje are the only legitimate threats to Khabib at LW. Holloway would get fucked worse than Dustin.

Holloway would get mauled by khabib. Gaethje and Porier are the khabib fights that I wanna see. I want to see that more than a Ferguson fight tbh

I love Poirier, always been a big fan of him since WEC days, but his striking is gonna mean absoutley nothing if he can't stop the takedowns, and as we know if Khabib doesnt get the first one, he will just keep trying until he gets it, I don't think Poirier would be able to stop all of them. I don't think Poirier gets finished though, could see him losing a decision

No, Poirer has nothing for Khabib. He'll get taken down and punched in the face until he quits or goes into survival mode and merely survives. Khabib has lost 1 fucking round in almost 30 fights and only because he took said round off to rest. Nobody has anything for him in his respected weight class.
